JDStar

JDStar (also spelt Jd'), was a women's professional wrestling promotion based in Tokyo, Japan. In the wake of the joshi puroresu boom of the early 1990s, several different groups opened with distinct approaches. The Jd'Star promotion, with its subtitle, "Beauty Athlete," summed up the company's approach.

History

Jaguar Yokota came out of retirement and announced the formation of her promotion, JDStar, in a press conference, in 1996. In the beginning, she was the focal point of most of their shows. She left the promotion in 1998, seeing that the promotion was going nowhere and worked freelance, which she still does today. After her departure, JDStar was bought by Kiyu Uji, and much like Yokota before him, the promotion got nowhere, even with the help of established stars Lioness Asuka, Aja Kong, and Chigusa Nagayo.

The company had a nice roster, but none with the ability or personalities to attract much attention. In 2001, Hidenobu Ichimaru bought JDStar from Kiyu Uji, and establish a new gimmick to promote JDStar's talent: the "Athtress" (athlete-actress), which used girls with model good looks to market them for their athleticism in the pro wrestling ring, and hopefully establish them as actresses. Coming mainly from an acting background, the first run of girls had few skills, and the fanfare dropped slightly. The "athtress" gimmick however, created more controversy than anything and the attempt to create an idol never quite caught. Also dropping was the wrestlers respect for Ichimaru, as several of the established wrestlers in joshi puroresu thought that the "Athtresses" should not be in the same ring as them.

Livezile, Bistrița-Năsăud

Livezile (until 1968 Iad; Hungarian: Jád; German: Jaad) is a commune located in Bistriţa-Năsăud County, Romania. It is composed of five villages: Cuşma (Kusma), Dorolea (Aszúbeszterce), Dumbrava (Dumbráva), Livezile and Valea Poenii (Bureaka).

Ieud

Ieud (Hungarian: Jód, Yiddish: יועד‎) is a commune in Maramureș County in northern Romania. The commune is situated in the central part of Maramureș County, on the banks of the Ieudișor, a tributary of the Iza River. It is composed of a single village, Ieud.

History

The commune was first mentioned in 1391 in a manuscript called the Codicele de la Ieud. This was found in Ieud's Church of the Nativity of the Mother of God. The church is the oldest of eight Wooden Churches of Maramureş that are listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

Jesse David Sheffield, II, known as J. D. Sheffield (born August 13, 1960) is a physician and clinic medical director from Gatesville, Texas, who is a Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives. His District 59 seat, which he has held for one term since 2013, encompasses Comanche, Coryell, Erath, Hamilton, McCulloch, Mills, San Saba, Somervell in Central Texas.

Background

Sheffield was born in Loraine in Mitchell County in West Texas. He attended Western Texas College, a community college in Snyder in Scurry County, where he played in a jazz band. Thereafter, he graduated from Howard Payne University, a Southern Baptist-affiliated institution in Brownwood. He subsequently procured a Doctor of Osteopathic medical degree from the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. He did his medical residency in Pueblo, Colorado. He is a former physician at the Scott & White Memorial Hospital clinic in Gatesville. He is a current board member and former chief of staff of Coryell Memorial Hospital in Gatesville. He is currently the medical director and physician at Coryell Medical Clinic in Gatesville.

Sheffield

Sheffield (ⁱ/ˈʃɛfiːld/) is a city and metropolitan borough in South Yorkshire, England. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, its name derives from the River Sheaf, which runs through the city. With some of its southern suburbs annexed from Derbyshire, the city has grown from its largely industrial roots to encompass a wider economic base. The population of the City of Sheffield is 563,749 (mid-2014 est.) and it is one of the eight largest regional English cities that make up the Core Cities Group. During the 19th century, Sheffield gained an international reputation for steel production. Many innovations were developed locally, including crucible and stainless steel, fuelling an almost tenfold increase in the population in the Industrial Revolution. Sheffield received its municipal charter in 1843, becoming the City of Sheffield in 1893. International competition in iron and steel caused a decline in traditional local industries in the 1970s and 1980s, coinciding with the collapse of coal mining in the area.

Sheffield (European Parliament constituency)

Sheffield was a European Parliament constituency covering the City of Sheffield and parts of Derbyshire in England.

Prior to its uniform adoption of proportional representation in 1999, the United Kingdom used first-past-the-post for the European elections in England, Scotland and Wales. The European Parliament constituencies used under that system were smaller than the later regional constituencies and only had one Member of the European Parliament each.

When the constituency was created in 1979, it consisted of the Westminster Parliament constituencies of Chesterfield, Derbyshire North East, Sheffield Attercliffe, Sheffield Brightside, Sheffield Hallam, Sheffield Heeley, Sheffield Hillsborough and Sheffield Park. In 1984, Park was replaced by Sheffield Central, and the boundaries of the other constituencies changed. Larger changes occurred in 1994, when the Derbyshire constituencies were removed to Nottinghamshire North and Chesterfield and replaced by Barnsley West and Penistone.
