"It Hurts Me" is a 1964 Top 40 song recorded by Elvis Presley on RCA Victor. Credited to Joy Byers and Charles E. Daniels, "It Hurts Me" is a ballad that was a new song when recorded by Elvis Presley on January 12, 1964. Record producer and songwriter Bob Johnston revealed that he had actually written the songs attributed to his wife Joy Byers, including "It Hurts Me".

Background

This non-movie song became the B-side of an Elvis Presley movie single, "Kissin' Cousins", released February 10, 1964. The A-side reached number 12 in the U.S. singles charts, while "It Hurts Me" reached number 29 but never became well-known or attained "the classic stature promised by the song and the performance."

The session that produced this recording marked the beginning of a twenty-eight month period during which Presley recorded no other non-movie songs.

Elvis recorded a new version on June 20, 1968 and used this song during the montage medley sequence of his 1968 NBC Comeback Special.

There is a notable Spanish version in the Latin genre by Marco TMarco Tulio Sanchez, known as the voice of rock and roll in Colombia.

"Det gör ont" (English: "It Hurts"), written by Orup and produced by Anders Hansson, was performed in Swedish by Lena Philipsson at the Swedish Melodifestivalen 2004. The song won and became the Swedish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 where it was performed in English as "It Hurts" and finished 5th. The song was included in Lena Philipsson's album Det gör ont en stund på natten men inget på dan. The song was also released as a single in 2004, which reached number 1 in the Swedish singles chart.

Taiwanese artist Jolin Tsai covered the single on her album "Butterfly" with the title "Slow Life"

Release as a single

The song was released as a single on 17 March 2004 and went to number one. It also reached platinum status. There were three versions of the single. The first included a Swedish version and karaoke version; the second included the English version and the karaoke version, and the third was a maxi single including the three versions.

The karaoke version is labeled as instrumental on the singles; however, no instruments replace the vocals so it is a karaoke.

It Hurts

"It Hurts" is the second single in Europe by Angels & Airwaves' from the debut album We Don't Need to Whisper. A short-film for this song was released on April 18 on the Angels & Airwaves official website, which continues where the video for "The Adventure" left off and continues with "The Gift". During the time of its first release, it peaked on the UK charts at #59. The song was also released as a downloadable track for the video game Rock Band on May 6, 2008.

"It Hurts (Slow)" (Korean: "아파 (Slow)"; Apa (Slow)) is a song by South Korean girl group 2NE1's album To Anyone. The song was produced by e.knock and Sunwoo Jungah. The song was released as the seventh single from the album. It was first performed on October 31, 2010, with a music video releasing later that night. The song was praised highly for its unique sound.

The song also serves as the B-side to the group's Japanese debut single, "Go Away".
