"It's Raining Men" is a song written by Paul Jabara and Paul Shaffer in 1979, originally recorded by The Weather Girls in 1982. The song had been offered to Diana Ross, Donna Summer,Cher, and Barbra Streisand before being accepted by Martha Wash and Izora Armstead of The Weather Girls, with their version becoming an international hit, selling over 6 million copies worldwide.

It was covered by Martha Wash (of The Weather Girls) as a duet with RuPaul in 1997, by Geri Halliwell in 2001, and by Young Divas in 2006. The song is hailed as a camp classic and more recently as a dance, gay, and female anthem.

Original and RuPaul versions

The Weather Girls' version went number one on the US Disco chart, debuting in October 1982. It made number 34 on the US R&B chart and number 46 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was released from their album Success. This version also made it to number two on the UK Singles Chart and number two in Australia, as well as number one on the Euro Hot 100.

The Weather Girls' music video was directed by Jim Canty and Jake-Sebastian Wynne, and featured Gene Anthony Ray.

The third season of Degrassi: The Next Generation commenced airing in Canada on 17 September 2003, concluded on 5 April 2004 and contains twenty-two episodes. Degrassi: The Next Generation is a Canadian serial teen drama television series. This season depicts the lives of a group of high school freshman and sophomores as they deal with some of the challenges and issues teenagers face such as dysfunctional families, sex, homosexuality, homophobia, theft, self-harm, domestic violence, abortion, emancipation and relationships.

Every episode is named after a song from the 1980s. Filming began on 26 May 2003, and ended in November 2003.

The third season aired Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. on CTV, a Canadian terrestrial television network, and premiered with a sixty-minute special, "Father Figure", which form the first two episodes of the season. "Raining Men" is a song by Barbadian recording artist Rihanna from her fifth studio album, Loud (2010). Written by Melvin Hough II, Rivelino Wouter, Timothy Thomas, Theron Thomas and Onika Maraj, and produced by Mel & Mus, the song was sent to urban radio on December 7, 2010, as the album's third single in the United States, and was re-sent to urban radio on January 25, 2011. A hip hop song, it features rap vocals by Nicki Minaj and instrumentation consisting of sirens and bass. The song's lyrics revolve around how there is an endless supply of men available in the world. The song garnered a mixed response from music critics; some praised the chemistry between Rihanna and Minaj, while others commented that it bore strong resemblances to Beyoncé's song "Diva" with regard to its composition, and were critical of the notion.

Upon the release of Loud, "Raining Men" charted on the singles charts in South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States on the strength of digital download sales. It's Raining is the third studio album by South Korean pop and R&B singer Rain. The sales as well as success of the album established him as one of the top musical acts in Southeast Asia. It is also the first album that Bi (비) uses the English name "Rain" internationally ("Bi (비)" is the Korean word for Rain).

The first single "It's Raining" along with the album of the same name went no. #1 throughout Southeast Asia, cementing Rain's position as one of the region's top musical acts. A more upbeat, hip-hop influence was displayed on the single "It's Raining" as well as throughout the album.

From 2004 to 2006, the album sold 350,000 in South Korea. For the Japanese release, the album was released with a different cover as well as the making of "It's Raining" music video.

To promote the release, Rain held his first concert tour that spanned Seoul, the US, Japan, China, Singapore, and more, for a total of 14 concerts in 8 countries.
