It's Like That (Run–D.M.C. song)

"It's Like That" is a song by American hip hop group Run–D.M.C. It was first released in 1983 on a cassette backed with the track "Sucker M.C.'s". The release marked the start of Run-D.M.C.'s career and is widely regarded as ushering in a new school of hip hop artists with a street image and an abrasive, minimalist sound that marked them out from their predecessors. Both tracks were collected on the trio's eponymous debut album in 1984. "It's like That" is about life in the area where the group lives (unemployment, prices, death, etc.). Despite protesting those social and political problems, the song takes on a hopeful message encouraging listeners to abandon prejudice and to believe in themselves. In 2001, parts of the song was sampled in Jagged Edge's "Let's Get Married (Remix)" featuring Run-D.M.C.. The single was an international success.

The song was remixed by house DJ Jason Nevins in 1997. His remix, originally a bootleg, was picked up for official release in 1997, and became a sleeper hit in 1998. It sold around five million copies worldwide, placing it amongst the biggest selling singles of all time, although Nevins was only paid some $5,000 for his remix.

It's Like That (Mariah Carey song)

"It's Like That" is a song by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey for her tenth studio album, The Emancipation of Mimi (2005). Written by Carey, Jermaine Dupri, Manuel Seal, and Johntá Austin, and produced by Carey, Dupri, and Seal, the song borrows the hook "It's Like That Y'all" from the Run–D.M.C. tracks "Hollis Crew" (1984) and "Here We Go (Live)" (1983). "Stay the Night", "Say Somethin'" and "Shake It Off" were all contenders for the lead single. However, plans were changed when Island Def Jam Music head L.A. Reid suggested to Carey she record a few more strong songs to ensure the album's success, therefore "It's Like That" was written and chosen as the album's lead-single, being released on January 7, 2005.

"It's Like That" is a hip-hop song featuring ad-libs by the song's producer Jermaine Dupri and Fatman Scoop, while its lyrics discuss about a celebration, free of stress, strife and sadness, where Carey's alter-ego "Mimi" is being emancipated. The song received generally favorable reviews from music critics, most of whom noted its catchiness and carefree message. It was also nominated for a 2006 Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Commercially, the song charted well worldwide, becoming a top twenty hit in several countries, including the United States, while peaking inside the top-ten in over five other countries.

534 is the fourth studio album by rapper Memphis Bleek. It was Released by Roc-A-Fella Records on May 17, 2005. The album contains 14 songs, including the hit single "Like That" produced by Swizz Beatz. A single by Bleek's mentor and childhood friend Jay-Z entitled "Dear Summer" was produced by Just Blaze. Other guests include Young Gunz, M.O.P., and the first ever appearance from Rihanna.

The title is a reference to the address of Marcy Houses, 534 Flushing Ave., where Bleek and Jay-Z grew up.

Monkey Business is the fourth studio album by American hip hop group, The Black Eyed Peas. It was released on May 25, 2005, by the will.i.am Music Group and A&M Records. It was recorded in "two and three-month spurts" throughout 2004 while the group was on tour.

The album was certified three times Platinum by the RIAA in the U.S. and has sold over 10 million copies worldwide. The Canadian Recording Industry Association (or CRIA) has certified Monkey Business 6x Platinum, with sales of over 600,000 copies. The Australian Recording Industry Association (or ARIA) has also certified Monkey Business 6x Platinum, denoting sales of over 420,000 copies. The album's tracks earned the group four 2006 Grammy Award nominations and they also won the Grammy for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for "Don't Phunk with My Heart". According to IFPI, over 2 million copies have been sold in Europe.

Critical reception

Initial critical response to Monkey Business was mixed to negative. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album has received an average score of 48, based on 20 reviews. The most favourable review was Robert Christgau's, who gave the album a 3-star honorable mention, saying: "What all pop might be—so much brighter and kinder than it is".

It's is the second mini-album by South Korean boy group Teen Top. The mini-album was released on January 9, 2012 and contains six tracks. "Going Crazy" was used as the promotional track for the mini-album. The mini-album debuted at number 3 on the Gaon Album Chart on January 18, 2012.

Background

With six tracks, the album was produced by Brave Brothers Kang Dong Chul, who took on not only the production, but writing, composition, and mixing processes as well to ensure its high quality.

"It's" is filled with an intro, an instrumental, a remix of the title track, and another three full music tracks. The mini album starts off with Teen Top's self-titled intro before it moves to its title track, "Going Crazy". The songs are followed by "Where's Ma Girl" and the slower "Girl Friend". The mini album then moves on to a R&B version of "Going Crazy" before adding another instrumental of the title track.

Their title track, "Going Crazy" was the #1 most downloaded ringtone in Korea early January 2012. On January 20, the weekly mobile ringtone chart on major Korean portal site Nate.com revealed that TEEN TOP’s “Going Crazy” triumphed T-ara‘s “Lovey Dovey” to secure the #1 spot.
