Iron Butterfly
Iron Butterfly is an American rock band best known for the 1968 hit "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida", providing a dramatic sound that led the way towards the development of hard rock and heavy metal music. Formed in San Diego, California among band members that used to be "arch enemies", their heyday was the late 1960s, but the band has been reincarnated with various members with varying levels of success, with no new recordings since 1975. The band's seminal 1968 album In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is among the world's 40 best-selling albums, selling more than 30 million copies. Iron Butterfly is also notable for being the first group to receive an RIAA platinum award.
History
Formation and Heavy (1966–1968)
The band formed in 1966 in San Diego, California. The original members were Doug Ingle (vocals, organ), Jack Pinney (drums), Greg Willis (bass), and Danny Weis (guitar). They were soon joined by tambourine player and vocalist Darryl DeLoach. DeLoach's parents' garage on Luna Avenue served as the site for their almost nightly rehearsals.
Iron butterfly (options strategy)
In finance an iron butterfly, also known as the ironfly, is the name of an advanced, neutral-outlook, options trading strategy that involves buying and holding four different options at three different strike prices. It is a limited-risk, limited-profit trading strategy that is structured for a larger probability of earning smaller limited profit when the underlying stock is perceived to have a low volatility.
Long Iron Butterfly
A long iron butterfly option strategy will attain maximum profit when the price of the underlying asset at expiration is equal to the strike price at which the call and put options are sold. The trader will then receive the net credit of entering the trade when the options all expire worthless.

Iron Butterfly (comics)
Iron Butterfly is a fictional comic book character distributed by DC Comics and is the field commander of the Shadow Cabinet. An original character from Milestone Comics, she first appeared in Hardware #11 (January 1993), and was created by Dwayne McDuffie, Robert L. Washington III, and Denys Cowan.
Fictional character biography
A Palestinian ferrokinetic, Iron Butterfly is the Shadow Cabinet's field commander. Although her origins are uncertain (she's given conflicting accounts), it is known that her family was murdered and that she is seeking to avenge this. She is secretly in love with Dharma, the team's leader, as evidenced when she refused to escape after he decided to imprison the entire team in their base.
Powers and Abilities
Iron Butterfly is able to move and shape metal and metallic objects. She can apparently feel the details of composition of the metal. When going into battle she wears medieval style plate armor with huge angel wings.
