Lionel Brockman Richie, Jr. (born June 20, 1949) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, record producer and actor. Beginning in 1968, he was a member of the musical group Commodores signed to Motown Records. Richie made his solo debut in 1982 with the album Lionel Richie and the number-one hit "Truly". He has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the world's best-selling artists of all time.
Lionel Brockman Richie, Jr. was born and raised in Tuskegee, Alabama, the son of Alberta R. (Foster) and Lionel Brockman Richie, Sr. He grew up on the campus of Tuskegee Institute.
Richie graduated from Joliet Township High School, East Campus. A star tennis player in Joliet, he accepted a tennis scholarship to attend Tuskegee Institute, and dropped out of Tuskegee Institute after his sophomore year. Richie seriously considered studying divinity to becoming a priest with the Episcopal Church, but ultimately decided he was not "priest material" and decided to continue his musical career. He is a member of Kappa Kappa Psi and an active life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.
Lionel Richie is the debut solo album by R&B singer Lionel Richie. It was recorded and released while Richie was still a member of the Commodores. He would leave the group shortly after. It was released in 1982 on Motown Records. The first single, "Truly", topped the Billboard Hot 100. Follow-up single "You Are" reached number four, and "My Love" reached number five. The album was also a hit, reaching number one on the Cashbox albums chart on December 11, 1982.
In 2003, Lionel Richie was re-released as part of a remaster series that saw two additional tracks added to the overall package. A solo version of "Endless Love" and an instrumental version of "You Are" now round out the CD.
As well as featuring English musician Thomas Dolby on synthesizers, Joe Walsh provided the guitar solo for the song "Wandering Stranger". It was his first album appearance since playing all tracks on John Entwistle's fifth solo album, Too Late the Hero.
In a Season 3 episode of Friends, Chandler is seen holding a copy of this album and singing "Endless Love". The song was not a part of this release; however, the song now appears on the 2003 remastered edition as one of two bonus tracks (as a solo performance only). At the time, "Endless Love" was available only on the original soundtrack to the movie of the same name, Endless Love, starring Brooke Shields.
"Into You" is the third single by American rapper Fabolous from his second studio album Street Dreams. It is also on Tamia's album More. It reached #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the second single from the album to reach the top 10.
The song features R&B artist Tamia for the single, and Ashanti for the album version. It samples the chorus of Tamia's song "So Into You" produced by Tim & Bob from her 1998 album Tamia, which samples Commodores' song "Say Yeah". On the re-released version of the Street Dreams album, both the Tamia and Ashanti versions appear on the album, with Tamia's version being a bonus track.
K. D. Aubert makes a cameo in the video as his love interest.
Jun Hyoseong (Hangul:전 효성; Hanja: 全 烋星; born October 13, 1989) often simply known as Hyoseong or Hyosung, is a South Korean idol singer and dancer.
In 2005 she was a finalist in television channel Mnet's "Battle Shinhwa" which led to her signing a recording contract with Good Entertainment. In 2007 she was to have debuted in the group 'Five Girls', together with G.NA, Wonder Girls's Yubin, After School's Uee and former T-ara member and current Spica member Yang Jiwon. However, the group disbanded before they were able to debut due to the company's financial problems. Hyoseong was later discovered by TS Entertainment, through a show aired on SBS MTV, called "Diary of Five Girls", and spent two years with the company as a trainee. In 2009 she debuted, with Song Jieun, Han Sunhwa and Jung Hana, as the four member girl group Secret.
Jun Hyoseong was born in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea on October 13, 1989. Hyoseong's name is derived from the word 유성 which is Korean for meteor, due to her father and maternal grandmother seeing a shooting star on the day of her birth. Hyoseong's family struggled financially, and she and her family earned extra money by delivering newspapers every morning since she was in 3rd grade. Ever since she was young, she was known amongst her friends for her singing and dancing skills. However, she never had thoughts about actually becoming a singer until she was in 6th grade. She admitted,
Here I finally come to stand
My pen and paper in my hand
To write to you
To tell you what I feel inside
To say to you I can't survive
Without you
For all the things I've come to see
I now beleive there's only you
Only you for me
I'm standing here so lost in you
That's all my heart and soul can do
Is say what's true
I love you
I love you
The first time I looked in your eyes
It was so clear to my surprise
My heart stood still
I'v eheard it time and time again
That when you fall you can't pretend
True love is real
I know with you I do belong
You are my voice my simple song
You're all I need
The joy I feel when love is blind
You're everything I need to find
My search is through
Babe I love you
I love you
Babe I love you
I love you
Cause I know with you I do belong
You are my voice my simple song
You're all I need
And the joy I feel when love is blind
You're everything I need to find
My search is through
Babe I love you
