Interstate 275

Interstate 275 (I-275) may refer to:

  • Interstate 275 (Florida), a loop through Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Bradenton in Florida
  • Interstate 275 (Michigan), a western bypass of Detroit, Michigan
  • Interstate 275 (Ohio–Indiana–Kentucky), a full beltway around Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Interstate 275 (Tennessee), a connection to downtown Knoxville, Tennessee, from the north
  • Interstate 275 (Michigan)

Interstate 275 (I-275) in the US state of Michigan is an Interstate Highway that functions as a western bypass of the Detroit metropolitan area. The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) maintains it as a component of the larger state trunkline highway system. The freeway runs through the western suburbs near Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. Along its routing, I-275 crosses several rivers and rail lines in the area. The southern terminus is the interchange with I-75 near Newport, northeast of Monroe. According to the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the length is 29.97 miles (48.23 km) while MDOT reports the length at 35.026 miles (56.369 km), a discrepancy due to a disagreement over the northern terminus. The FHWA considers I-275 to end at the junction with I-96 and M-14 along the boundary between Livonia and Plymouth Township. MDOT extends I-275 northward running concurrently with I-96 to the junction with I-696 and M-5 on the Farmington HillsNovi city line.

    Interstate 275 (Tennessee)

Interstate 275 (I-275) is an Interstate Highway in Tennessee that serves Knoxville by connecting the downtown with I-75/I-640/US-25W. Measuring 2.98 miles (4.80 km) in length, the northern terminus is the junction with I-75/I-640/US-25W and the southern terminus is I-40.

    History

Originally constructed in 1958 as I-75, this was renumbered as I-275 in early 1982. Its renumbering became necessary when I-75 was re-routed onto I-640 to divert traffic from the downtown area; the remnant was designated as I-275.

In 2007, the existing cloverleaf exits (1A–B, 1C–D, 2A–B) were replaced with traditional diamond interchanges to add a continuous third lane in each direction. This was done to handle increased traffic flow for the shutdown of I-40 in downtown Knoxville that took place on May 1, 2008 . I-275 was the designated detour route for I-75 northbound traffic during the I-40 shutdown to avoid traffic congestion at the I-75/I-640/US-25W/I-275 junction as the ramp for I-75 northbound from I-640 eastbound is only one lane.

    Remember Me

    by: Interstate

    I'm in too deep
    I can't get to sleep.
    But when I do
    I only dream of you.
I need to see your face, and feel your warm embrace.
It's your memory, that keeps me alive.
    Will you remember me...
    Like I remember you...
    Will you remember me...
    Like I remember you...´
    Will you remember me.
Never felt this way. There's nothing I could say.
You've only left me wanting so much more.
Emotions every day and all the love we shared
There's too much room for us to grow.
And I just can't let you go...
    Will you remember me...
    Like I remember you...
    Will you remember me...
    Like I remember you...
And I just can't let you go...
    Will you remember me...
    Like I remember you...
    Will you remember me...
    Like I remember you...
