Insidious (film series)

Insidious is a series of American supernatural horror films from FilmDistrict. There are three films in the franchise, Insidious (2011), Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013), and Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015), which have grossed a total of $357.7 million worldwide.

The first two films center on a couple who, after their son mysteriously enters a comatose state and becomes a vessel for ghosts in an astral plane, are continuously haunted by demons of the further until they take from the family what they want most: life. The third film, a prequel, focuses on the same psychic that helped the family this time come to the aid of a young girl who calls out to the dead.

The first two films were directed by James Wan, while the third film was directed by Leigh Whannell, who also served as the screenwriter for all three films. Insidious: Chapter 3 was released on June 5, 2015.

Insidious (2011)

Insidious was directed by James Wan, written by Leigh Whannell, and starred Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne and Barbara Hershey. The story centers on a couple whose son inexplicably enters a comatose state and becomes a vessel for ghosts in an astral dimension. The film was released in theaters on April 1, 2011, and is FilmDistrict's first theatrical release. A sequel, Insidious: Chapter 2, was released on September 13, 2013, with Wan returning as director and Whannell returning as screenwriter. The film's success led to it being used as inspiration for a maze in 2013's annual Halloween Horror Nights.

Insidious (Nightrage album)

Insidious is the fifth album by the melodic death metal band Nightrage. The album was released September 26 in Europe and a day later in North America (September 27) through German label, Lifeforce Records. The Japanese version of the album includes a cover of Def Leppard's "Photograph".

The song Wrapped In Deceitful Dreams references in the lyrics "Seas Of Eternal Silence" which may refer to the Sweet Vengeance song At The Ends Of The Earth or the 1997 Exhumation (Marios Iliopoulos' former band) album by the same name.

Insidious is the first and only Nightrage album in the band's history to feature the same line up as the previous album.

Share (film)

Share is a 2015 American short drama film written and directed by Pippa Bianco, and starring Taissa Farmiga, Keir Gilchrist, Andre Royo, and Madisen Beaty. It follows a 15-year-old girl as she returns to school after an explicit video of her goes viral online. The film had its world premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival on March 14, 2015, where it won the Special Jury Recognition Award for Narrative Short. It was then selected as the only American short film in the 2015 Cannes Film Festival, screening on May 20, 2015. The film won the first prize Cinéfondation Award at the festival. It went on to screen at the Telluride Film Festival on September 6, 2015.

Plot

On her first day back at school, 15-year-old Krystal (Taissa Farmiga) attempts to restore her privacy after a sexually explicit video of her goes viral on the Internet, from a night she doesn't remember.

Nielsen ratings

Nielsen ratings are the audience measurement systems developed by Robert F. Elder and Louis F Woodruff and sold to Nielsen Company, in an effort to determine the audience size and composition of television programming in the United States. Nielsen Media Research was founded by Arthur C. Nielsen, a market analyst whose career had begun in the 1920s with brand advertising analysis and had expanded into radio market analysis during the 1930s, culminating in Nielsen ratings of radio programming, which was meant to provide statistics as to the markets of radio shows. The first Nielsen ratings for radio programs were released the first week of December 1947. They measured the top 20 programs in four areas: total audience, average audience, cumulative audience and homes per dollar spent for time and talent.

In 1950, Nielsen moved to television, developing a ratings system using the methods he and his company had developed for radio. That method has since become the primary source of audience measurement information in the television industry around the world.
