Inside (French: À l'intérieur) is a 2007 French home invasion horror film directed by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, starring Alysson Paradis and Béatrice Dalle. It was written by co-director Bustillo, and is the first feature film from either director. It concerns the attack and home-invasion of a young pregnant woman by a mysterious stranger who seeks to take her unborn baby. The film received generally positive reviews from mainstream critics upon its release and was particularly well received among horror film critics, noting it for being a genuinely scary and brutally violent example of the new wave of French horror.
A baby in utero is seen, with the mother's voice heard soothing it. The baby recoils as if struck. Expectant mother Sarah (Paradis) has been in a car accident, and her husband has been killed. Months later on Christmas Eve, Sarah is making final preparations for her delivery the following day. Still reeling from her husband's death, Sarah is now moody and depressed.
Ashoka Maurya (IAST: Aśoka; /əˈʃoʊkə/; 304–232 BCE), commonly known as Ashoka and Ashoka the Great, was an Indian emperor of the Maurya Dynasty who ruled almost all of the Indian subcontinent from c. 268 to 232 BCE. One of India's greatest emperors, Ashoka reigned over a realm that stretched from the Hindu Kush mountains in Afghanistan to the modern state of Bangladesh in the east. It covered the entire Indian subcontinent except parts of present-day Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The empire's capital was Pataliputra (in Magadha, present-day Bihar), with provincial capitals at Taxila and Ujjain.
In about 260 BCE, Ashoka waged a bitterly destructive war against the state of Kalinga (modern Odisha). He conquered Kalinga, which none of his ancestors had done. He embraced Buddhism after witnessing the mass deaths of the Kalinga War, which he himself had waged out of a desire for conquest. "Ashoka reflected on the war in Kalinga, which reportedly had resulted in more than 100,000 deaths and 150,000 deportations, ending at around 200,000 deaths." Ashoka converted gradually to Buddhism beginning about 263 BCE. He was later dedicated to the propagation of Buddhism across Asia, and established monuments marking several significant sites in the life of Gautama Buddha. "Ashoka regarded Buddhism as a doctrine that could serve as a cultural foundation for political unity." Ashoka is now remembered as a philanthropic administrator. In the Kalinga edicts, he addresses his people as his "children", and mentions that as a father he desires their good.
Pretend I'm not alive
Pretend to fall in line
Pretend that you are not pretending
Detached from comprehending
As you sleep alone
As you sleep alone tonight
I feel the urgency
I feel you next to me
I feel that happiness is boring
She's drinking all the chlorine
As I sleep alone
As I sleep alone tonight
On the inside
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
The movie in your mind
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
Slow motion suicide
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
Is it safe to hide on the inside?
On the inside
The time will pass us by
The time of cheap surprise
The time of reckoning is coming
So spend your whole life running
And don't sleep alone
And don't sleep alone at night
I feel the urgency
I feel you next to me
I feel that happiness is boring
She's drinking all the chlorine
As I sleep alone
As I sleep alone tonight
On the inside
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
The movie in your mind
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
Slow motion suicide
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
Is it safe to hide on the inside?
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
The movie in your mind
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
Slow motion suicide
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
Is it safe to hide on the inside?
On the inside
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
The movie in your mind
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
Slow motion suicide
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
Is it safe to hide on the inside?
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
The movie in your mind
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
Slow motion suicide
(Inside, inside, inside, inside)
Is it safe to hide on the inside?
On the inside
On the inside
