Disownment is the formal act or condition of forcibly renouncing or no longer accepting one's consanguineous child as a member of one's family or kin. It differs from giving a child up for adoption both in that it is a social and interpersonal issue (and therefore usually takes place later in the child's life, though children can be disowned by their parents at very young ages as well) and that it does not imply any arrangement for future care. In this sense it is comparable to divorce or repudiation (of a spouse). Disownment may entail disinheritance, familial exile, or shunning, and often a combination of the three. In many modern legal systems, it is considered a form of child abandonment and is against the law in most countries.

Disown (band)

Disown is a four-piece Industrial rock band originally from Cleveland, Ohio.

Along with guitar riffs and stabbing electronic synths similar to Nine Inch Nails or Linkin Park, Disown adds an arrangement of melodic, emotional lyrics similar to A Perfect Circle or Tool.

Formed in 2000, Disown has shared the stage with HIM, Atreyu, Lacuna Coil, Static-X, Orgy, Godhead, Crossbreed, Mushroomhead, Trust Company, KMFDM and The Apex Theory.

The original lineup consisted of Jae Rohrer on vocals and guitar, Mitch Langford on guitar and sequencing, Jesse Rohrer on bass, and Gerry Lakarosky on drums.

In 2004, Disown appeared in an article of the Daily Kent Stater written by Mark Bodkin documenting the recording process of their first release "Angels and Atheists." Later that same year, they traveled to the Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio to demo three songs with Eric Rickey that would later appear on "Requiem of One." That same year, Disown replaced drummer, Gerry Lakarosky with Scott Kaczmarek.

Jesus, King of the Jews

In the New Testament, Jesus is referred to as the King of the Jews, both at the beginning of his life and at the end. In the Koine Greek of the New Testament, e.g. in John 19:3, this is written Basileus ton Ioudaion (βασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων).

Both uses of the title lead to dramatic results in the New Testament accounts. In the account of the Nativity of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew, the wise men (i.e. Magi) who come from the east call Jesus the "King of the Jews", causing King Herod to order the Massacre of the Innocents. Towards the end of the accounts of all four Canonical Gospels, in the narrative of the Passion of Jesus, the use of the "King of the Jews" title leads to charges against Jesus that result in his Crucifixion.

The acronym INRI (Latin: Iēsus Nazarēnus, Rēx Iūdaeōrum) represents the Latin inscription which in English reads as "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews" and John 19:20 states that this was written in three languages—Aramaic, Latin, and Greek—during the crucifixion of Jesus. The Greek version of the acronym read ΙΝΒΙ, representing Ἰησοῦς ὁ Ναζωραῖος ὁ Bασιλεὺς τῶν Ἰουδαίων which is best translated, "Jesus the Nazorean, King of the Jews."

INRI (Psyclon Nine album)

INRI is Psyclon Nine's second studio album, released on April 26, 2005 by Metropolis Records in the US, and NoiTekk in Germany. INRI comes from the Latin phrase which, translated into English, means "Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews". The songs are of the dark, aggrotech genre focusing on religious themes. The album contains a cover of Ministry's "You Know What You Are". The original album cover was changed because of nudity. It would only be sold in European stores. The new cover is that of the band's logo and bloody wings lying below it.
