The domain name info is a generic top-level domain (gTLD) in the Domain Name System (DNS) of the Internet. The name is derived from information, though registration requirements do not prescribe any particular theme.

The info TLD was a response to ICANN's highly publicized announcement, in late 2000, of a phased release of seven new generic top-level domains. The event was the first addition of major gTLDs since the Domain Name System was developed in the 1980s. The seven new gTLDs, selected from over 180 proposals, were meant in part to take the pressure off the com domain.

The info domain has been the most successful of the seven new domain names, with over 5.2 million domain names in the registry as of April 2008. After the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority of New York switched to the easier to remember mta.info website to lead users to latest information on schedules and route changes on the area's transportation services. ICANN and Afilias have also sealed an agreement for country names to be reserved by ICANN under resolution 01.92.

History

Info was formed in 2000 by Camilo Z. on lead vocals, Alex L. on drums (former members of punk band Eskizofrenia) and guitarist John C.. First songs came from this trio, but bassless live sound was weak. As Milton R. became a member of the band as bassist, the loops, electronics effects and samplers came with him. Milton R. was the drummer for alternative post-punk band Santaraña and BrujoNitro, a power-metal band from Bogotá, leaving percussion behind for playing bass on Info instead. Alex L. was 2nd. drummer for 1280 Almas, a famous band in the early 1990s at Colombia. Once this members are full involved with the band, artistic and musical concept spins on the Man of the Future idea.

The name Info comes from the word information, which represents all the new breed needs for being smart and powerful in the future: there are no limits for information in nowadays... "Internet, media, networks exist for the human being evolution and reached by everyone" (John C. on interview for Radioactiva 97.9 FM, Colombia - March 2005).

Info URI scheme

In computer science, info: is a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) scheme for information assets with identifiers in public namespaces that allows legacy namespaces such as Library of Congress Identifiers and Digital object identifiers to be represented as URIs. It acts as a bridging mechanism for older information identifiers to be used in the more generalised and standard URI allocation.

The info URI scheme supports hierarchical processing with a forward slash character ‘/’ (also commonly seen in Uniform Resource Locators), although the character should not be treated as a strict hierarchical delimiter. Its scheme-specific part is an auto-identifier, which is constructed by appending an “identifier” component to a “namespace” component separated by a forward slash.

Winston Smith

Lara's butler who is often seen at Croft Manor. He rarely plays any role in the game's plot, usually only seen in Lara's Mansion, in the 2nd and 3rd games he follows Lara around the mansion, carrying a tray with what seems to be blue mugs on it and often farts and groans. One of the secrets in the 2nd and 3rd game was the ability to lock Winston in a large freezer.

In Tomb Raider Chronicles, he sits around a table with various other friends of Lara as they recall Lara's past adventures. He tells the story of how Lara finds the Philosopher's Stone in Rome, while being stalked by Larson Conway and Pierre Dupont. He also tells how Lara stole the "Iris" artefact from Von Croy's company building.

In Tomb Raider: Legend he stands beside the fireplace in Croft Manor and offers advice to Lara in cutscenes. He also appears in the manor level of Tomb Raider: Anniversary.

Tom Prichard

Thomas "Dr. Tom" Prichard (born August 18, 1959) is an American professional wrestler and author. He is the brother of Chris and Bruce Prichard.

Career

Beginnings

Tom Prichard began his career in Los Angeles, around 1979, working for Gene and Mike LeBell's Los Angeles Olympic Auditorium wrestling promotion, where he held several championships in that organization, including the Americas tag team title with Chris Adams. After LeBell closed the L.A. promotion down in 1982, Prichard competed in various NWA territories for the next four years before settling in the southeast, where he had his greatest success of his career.

Continental Wrestling Federation and United States Wrestling Association

Prichard joined the Continental Wrestling Federation in the late 1980s, and feuded with "The Dirty White Boy" Tony Anthony. Their feud included a very controversial angle, which aired on April 23, 1988, where Anthony's valet came out with a black eye and begged Prichard to help her, only for Anthony to attack him from behind, cuff his hands behind his back, and hang him. On October 3, 1988 in Birmingham, Alabama, he defeated Anthony in the finals of a tournament to win the vacant CWF Heavyweight Championship. Prichard lost the title to Wendell Cooley on April 7, 1989 in Knoxville, Tennessee, but regained the belt on June 23 of that year. He lost the title to Dennis Condrey a month later on July 22 in Dothan, Alabama, before once again regaining it after defeating Condrey on December 6 of that same year. Prichard held the title until the CWF closed later that month.
