Infinity (Charice album)

Infinity (stylized as ∞) is the second international studio album (fifth overall release) by Filipina pop and R&B singer Charice. The album was released exclusively early in Japan on October 5, 2011 by Warner Bros. Records.

Charice launched a seven-city tour across Asia in order to promote the official Asian release of the album in Summer 2012. The tour began on March 2, 2012.

The album's release in America was planned, but eventually cancelled.

Background

On August 16, 2011, Charice's record label, Warner Bros. Records, announced their plans to release her second studio album early in Japan on October 5, 2011. On August 30 it was announced that the album would be titled Infinity.

On March 28, 2012, Charice said that she had been working on the American release of the album and that its track listing would differ from the Asian version. No release date had been decided at the time.

On July 27, 2013, she revealed the main reason why the album was never released in America: "Some of the songs didn't pass their standards. They're more about upbeat, danceable songs over there," she said in a statement.

Infinity (comic book)

"Infinity" is a 2013 comic book crossover storyline that was published by Marvel Comics. Written by Jonathan Hickman with artwork by a rotating team of artists including Jim Cheung, Jerome Opeña, and Dustin Weaver, the series debuted in August 2013 and ran through November 2013.

The storyline concerns issues built up in multiple Marvel comic books as part of the Marvel NOW! initiative, primarily Avengers and New Avengers. These issues include a threat to the universe by an ancient race of aliens known as the Builders. The second is the mysterious ailments plaguing the universe with Earth at the center. The third is the political ramifications these events have on Earth's relationship to the rest of the galactic community.

The story itself involves Thanos attacking Earth while the Avengers are in space uniting the universe against the Builders, with the events of the 2013 "Age of Ultron" storyline acting as a catalyst for the rest of the universe to formally target Earth. The various tie-ins tell Thanos's attack from the perspective of various Marvel characters.

Infinity (Guru Josh album)

Infinity is the debut album by English acid house musician Guru Josh, released in the UK in July 1990 by BMG Victor Inc. The album features the single "Infinity" which was released in December 1989 and reached number 5 in the UK Singles Chart on 24 February 1990.

Release

The album was released on Vinyl, Cassette and CD in July 1990 in the United Kingdom, Spain and Europe. It was later released in Japan on 21 September 1990. On 19 June 2004 the album was re-released in the UK on CD by Sony Music with four exclusive bonus tracks.

Peach (band)

Peach (also known as Peach [gb]) was a metal band from England that originally recorded between 1991 and 1994. The band was renamed Sterling in 1995, and Simon Oakes and Rob Havis later reformed as Suns of the Tundra in 2000.

The original line-up consisted of Simon Oakes, Rob Havis, Ben Durling and Justin Chancellor. Peach supported the band Tool on the European leg of their tours throughout 1993–1994 after the release of Undertow, and then released an album, Giving Birth to a Stone, themselves. After touring to promote their debut album, Peach recorded a second one, Volume II. It was never released due to a failure to secure a major record deal. In 1995 Oakes quit to form Geyser with Al Murray (prior to his comedy career), but Peach continued with replacement singer Rod Sterling. Rob Havis later left for fellow Tool support act Submarine (later to become JetBoy DC), and the name Peach was then dropped in favour of Sterling. Chancellor left the band to join Tool in 1995, after Tool's first bassist, Paul D'Amour, left. Sterling signed a deal with Mantra Records and released an album (Monster Lingo) and had four singles.

Princess Peach

Princess Peach (Japanese: ピーチ姫, Hepburn: Pīchi-hime, [piː.tɕi̥ çi̥.me]) is a character in Nintendo's Mario franchise. Originally created by Shigeru Miyamoto, Peach is the princess of the fictional Mushroom Kingdom, which is constantly under attack by Bowser. She often plays the damsel in distress role within the series and is the lead female. She is often portrayed as Mario's love interest and has appeared in all the Mario games to date, including Super Princess Peach, where she is the main playable character.

Concept and creation

Princess Peach's initial appearance was drawn by Shigeru Miyamoto. Miyamoto later asked Yōichi Kotabe to redraw Peach with his instructions. He had asked Kotabe to draw her eyes to be "a little cat-like" and that she should look "stubborn, but cute". With Kotabe's influence, Princess Peach changed considerably throughout her gaming system. Peach was not a playable character in New Super Mario Bros. Wii because a satisfying mechanic to use her dress was not found, however, she is the main protagonist in Super Princess Peach and is a playable character in most Mario spin-offs such as Mario Party, Mario Kart and also sports games.

Peach (pop band)

Peach (known as Peach Union in the United States) was a British pop/dance/electronic trio formed in London in 1995. The band had several singles in the mid to late 1990s. They are best known for the 1997 hit "On My Own".

Overview

The trio was composed of the London-based singer-songwriter Lisa Lamb with the songwriter Paul Statham and the record producer Pascal Gabriel. Before Peach, Lamb had a solo career as a singer-songwriter in London, releasing a drum and bass record, "Summer Breeze", in 1995 and working as a jazz singer. Statham had worked extensively with the former Bauhaus member Peter Murphy, and Gabriel already had a long career in the pop and dance music industry, most notably with S'Express and Bomb the Bass.

Peach released one album, Audiopeach, in 1998 on Mute/Epic Records, inspired by early 1980s music. The track "On My Own" charted well worldwide, reaching No.1 in Israel and Sweden, No.2 in Canada and Mexico as well as reaching No.69 in the UK Singles Chart and No.39 in the US. It was used in the film Sliding Doors. The album received positive reviews at the time of its release. The group disbanded without recording a follow-up album.
