In Position is a six track EP recorded by Irish band Turn in 2001. It was recorded by the band without any record company involvement after they left Infectious Records in 2000. In Position the song would later be re-recorded and appear on Turn's second full length album, Forward (Turn album). The EP was a massive success for the band, securing them a strong following throughout Ireland and giving Turn two of their strongest songs, In Position and Heartattack. However, shortly after the tour that followed the EP's release, original bass player, Gavin Fox left the group to join Scottish Rockers Idlewild.
In Position on Irish Music Central
And now it's been too long
The mass is all volume
Asking how, that's what wrong
Asking how it moves fast with no bloom
Please hold your breath
Long enough for words to ring
One more second
And I come back to life
A few more times
We've landed on sound ground
Oh and there's that line again
I thought I would hear at least one more time
It builds, it builds, it builds
And now you see your're standing still
One more second and I come back to life
A few more times
It builds, it builds, it builds
And now you see you're standing still
You've read this line out loud
But now you wonder what it's about
Without a sound
It was said under the breath
The meaning left benign
A fragment is sized down from the original line
You're a great view until he looks at you
You have held your breath too long
And now the words will only ring
(Please hold your breath, hold your breath, hold your breath)
It's this last second
That I've come back to life
(Please hold your breath, hold your breath, hold your breath)
A few more times
Ears landed on sound
Ears landed on sound
