In Pictures is the sixteenth studio album by American country music band Alabama, released in 1995. It produced the singles "She Ain't Your Ordinary Girl", "In Pictures", "It Works", "Say I" and "The Maker Said Take Her", which respectively reached No. 2, No. 4, No. 19, No. 38 and No. 4 on the Hot Country Songs charts. The title track was originally recorded by Linda Davis on her 1994 album Shoot for the Moon.

The album was recorded at Emerald studios in Nashville, Tennessee.

It was released in September 1995 as the second single and title track from their album In Pictures. The song reached #4 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart in December 1995. The song was previously recorded by Linda Davis on her album Shoot for the Moon.

Content

The song tells the story of a divorced father which the song implies that the mother has full custody of his daughter (and apparently has very little, if any, visitation rights) and thus is forced to watch his daughter grow up via photographs.
