In Jesus

In Jesus is the eighth studio album from Phatfish, released 4 June 2009. The album has been described by Cross Rhythms Christian magazine and radio as having "a slightly rockier edge than recent albums" that sees them "closer to the classic sound of their best selling albums Heavenbound and Nothing But The Truth whilst still maintaining the beautiful worship feel that pervades their music".

This album was the first since the addition of two new guitarists, Jos Wintermeyer and Ben Hall to the lineup in early 2009, and featured 10 entirely new songs. Ben and Jos both contribute to two songs each on the album, working with Lou and Nathan Fellingham respectively.

The band describe the album as "pumping" and "rhythmic" with soaring vocals from Lou Fellingham alongside sensitive and biblical lyrics.

The album reached number 3 on the Cross Rhythms sales charts, and Guaranteed climbed to 19 in the charts the same month.

Live

The release of the album was followed up with a tour starting at the Sound nightclub in London, leading onto Brighton, Woodbridge, Peterborough, Bromley and Norwich. The live shows feature songs from both 'In Jesus' and the back catalogue.

Jesus

Jesus (/ˈdʒiːzəs/; Greek: Ἰησοῦς Iesous; 7–2 BC to AD 30–33), also referred to as Jesus of Nazareth or Jesus Christ, is the central figure of Christianity, whom the teachings of most Christian denominations hold to be the Son of God. Christians believe Jesus is the awaited Messiah (or Christ, the Anointed One) of the Old Testament.

Virtually all modern scholars of antiquity agree that Jesus existed historically, and historians consider the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark and Luke) to be the best sources for investigating the historical Jesus. Most scholars agree that Jesus was a Galilean, Jewish rabbi who preached his message orally,was baptized by John the Baptist, and was crucified by the order of the Roman Prefect Pontius Pilate. In the current mainstream view, Jesus was an apocalyptic preacher and the founder of a renewal movement within Judaism, although some prominent scholars argue that he was not apocalyptic. After Jesus' death, his followers believed he was resurrected, and the community they formed eventually became the Christian church. The widely used calendar era, abbreviated as "AD" from the Latin "Anno Domini" ("in the year of our Lord") or sometimes as "CE", is based on the birth of Jesus. His birth is celebrated annually on December 25 as a holiday known as Christmas.

Jesus (1999 film)

Jesus is a 1999 Biblical television film that retells the story of Jesus. It was shot in Morocco and Malta. It stars Jeremy Sisto as Jesus, Jacqueline Bisset as Mary of Nazareth, Debra Messing as Mary Magdalene and Gary Oldman as Pontius Pilate.

Overview

The film's chronology entails a cinematic blending of the Four Gospels with the addition of extra-biblical elements not found in the New Testament Accounts. It provides a down to earth approach through its focus on the human aspect of Jesus. Compared to more solemn and divine portrayals in earlier films, Jesus expresses emotions weeping at Joseph’s funeral, throwing stones in Lake Galilee upon meeting Simon Peter and James son of Zebedee, dancing at the wedding at Cana, and starting a water-splashing fight with his disciples.

While the film mainly presented familiar Christian Episodes, it provides extra-biblical scenes such as flashbacks of his first trip to Jerusalem with John as well as scenes of war and destruction waged in the name of Jesus during the medieval and modern times. Likewise, the film's Satan comes in two different forms: a visual exemplification of a modern man and a woman in red, instead of the traditional snake that can be found in most films. The film also adds a composite character, an apocryphal Roman historian named “Livio” who watches and comments as events unfold; he is presumably named after Livy.

Love Out Loud

Love Out Loud is an album by Jaci Velasquez released on March 18, 2008.

Album background

On the heels of the tenth-year anniversary celebration of her debut platinum selling album, Heavenly Place, Velasquez returned to the studio to write and record Love Out Loud. Velasquez once again teamed-up with Mark Heimermann, the producer of her first three albums. The lead single is "Love Out Loud" that speaks of putting one's words into action to show others God's love through us.
