Ill Na Na 2: The Fever

Ill Na Na 2: The Fever was intended to be the fourth full-length studio album and fifth recording by American hip-hop artist Foxy Brown. Scheduled for a May 6, 2003 release date, the album was cancelled due to disagreements between Foxy Brown and Bad Boy CEO Sean Combs.

History

Brown began recording the follow-up album to her previous release Broken Silence in the summer of 2001. Early in April 2002, she decided to title it Ill Na Na 2: The Fever. Amid rumors that Brown wanted to leave Def Jam, the album was initially to be released on July 2, 2002. In the middle of that month, Sean Combs offered to be co-executive producer. With a tentative release date of November 19, the first single would be the remix of "Stylin'", featuring Loon, Birdman, N.O.R.E., and Brown's brother Gavin. With a delayed release to May 2003 and plans to produce the album more like her latest (Broken Silence) rather than her original Ill Na Na, Brown started working with R&B singers Anita Baker and Lauryn Hill on the album in early 2003, and "I Need A Man" became the lead single. On April 16, 2003, Brown announced in an interview on The Wendy Williams Show on New York City radio station WBLS that she decided to terminate work on the album; the album would have been released on May 6.

Ill Na Na

Ill Na Na is the debut studio album by American rapper Foxy Brown, released on November 19, 1996 by Def Jam Recordings. It was reissued on September 29, 1997 in the United Kingdom with an addition of the song "Big Bad Mamma". Brown began working on the album after being discovered by the production team Trackmasters and appearing on a number of singles by other artists, such as LL Cool J, Case and Jay Z. The immediate success of the singles led to a bidding war at the beginning of 1996, and in March, Def Jam Recordings won and signed the then 17-year-old rapper to the label. Mostly produced by Trackmasters, Ill Na Na features guest appearances from Blackstreet, Havoc, Method Man, Kid Capri and Jay Z. Lyrically, the album mainly focuses on themes of fashion, sex and mafia.

Released exactly one week after Lil' Kim's debut album Hard Core, the album received generally positive reviews from music critics, heavily comparing the two albums. Ill Na Na debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200 with 109,000 copies sold in its first week. It has sold over a million copies and was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Against All Odds (N-Dubz album)

Against All Odds is the second studio album by N-Dubz. It was released in Ireland on 13 November 2009 and was released on 16 November 2009 in the UK.

Background

Following the release of Uncle B, Tulisa told the Daily Star: "We have just taken a quick break. We're having fun since our return to the studio, and the album is sounding good." She revealed that the group have adopted unusual work patterns while making the new record: "We normally work till 5am - I come alive at midnight, like a vampire." She added that the group had recorded a song called "Shoulda Put Something On", a track about teenage pregnancy, for the album. "It is about a young couple arguing whether to keep their unplanned baby. It's not something any of us have been through personally. But everyone knows someone who has. The three of us wrote down our different perspectives and we based the song around that. It's our favourite track on the album." The group were rumoured to be recording a song with Kylie Minogue for the album, after she expressed praise for their debut album Uncle B, however, Tulisa denied the rumours. The group announced that the album would be released on November 16, 2009, before revealing the album title. When covering for Semtex on BBC Radio 1Xtra, Fazer and Tulisa stated that their former manager, Dappy's father (Byron Contostavlos), wanted Against All Odds to be the title of their debut album, but after his death, they changed it to Uncle B in memory of him and so Against All Odds was the title for their second album. They also confirm this in the album booklet. The album includes six different collaborations, including an updated version of the Tinchy Stryder's single "Number 1". Stryder's first verse was kept, but new verses by Tulisa and Fazer were recorded. The album was mixed at The Chairworks in Castleford Yorkshire by Kelvin Avon. The album has sold over 200,000 copies.

Na Na (song)

"Na Na" is a song by American recording artist Trey Songz, released on January 21, 2014 as the lead single from his sixth studio album, Trigga (2014) which was released on July 1, 2014. The song features production from West Coast hip hop producer DJ Mustard, and the chorus interpolates Teena Marie's 1988 hit "Ooo La La La".

On March 13, 2014, Trey Songz released the official music video of "Na Na", which was directed by Gil Green and features WWE Divas The Bella Twins.
