Susana Guerra (born 24 January 1980), better known by her stage name Suzy, is a Portuguese singer. She represented Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, Denmark, with the song "Quero ser tua".

Early life

Suzy was born in Figueira da Foz. From very early on she has shown great pleasure in singing, appearing for the first time on stage at only 5 years of age, at the Cineteatro Caras Direitas in Buarcos, a small village in the centre of Portugal.

During her childhood, she moved to Lisbon, having joined the group Onda Choc, a kids’ band of huge success in the 90s, which allowed her to perform in numerous shows and make several appearances on TV shows.

Career

1999–2010: Early career

At Christmas 1999, the song which gave her greater visibility was launched: Suzy performed with the famous Portuguese duet Anjos "Nesta Noite Branca" (this white evening), a huge success and still a mandatory song in the Christmas season, playing incessantly on different Portuguese radio stations. With this song, she made countless TV shows, together with Anjos.

Supersymmetry

In particle physics, Supersymmetry (SUSY) is a proposed type of spacetime symmetry that relates two basic classes of elementary particles: bosons, which have an integer-valued spin, and fermions, which have a half-integer spin. Each particle from one group is associated with a particle from the other, known as its superpartner, the spin of which differs by a half-integer. In a theory with perfectly "unbroken" supersymmetry, each pair of superpartners would share the same mass and internal quantum numbers besides spin. For example, there would be a "selectron" (superpartner electron), a bosonic version of the electron with the same mass as the electron, that would be easy to find in a laboratory. Thus, since no superpartners have been observed, if supersymmetry exists it must be a spontaneously broken symmetry so that superpartners may differ in mass. Spontaneously-broken supersymmetry could solve many mysterious problems in particle physics including the hierarchy problem. The simplest realization of spontaneously-broken supersymmetry, the so-called Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model, is one of the best studied candidates for physics beyond the Standard Model.

Idol (Norway season 2)

Idol: Jakten på en superstjerne 2004 was the second season of Idol Norway based on the British singing competition Pop Idol. It premiered one year after the first season and was aired in the first half of 2004.

Unlike last year's winner Kurt Nilsen, his successor Kjartan Salvesen was not able to build up an international career. Other alumni of this season were more successful, most notably runner-up Margaret Berger, who established a career as an electronic dance artist and went on to became the music director of NRK P3 in 2008. Berger would also represent Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, placing fourth. Another contestant was Maria Haukaas Storeng who, to the surprise of many, was voted off sixth but went on to represent Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 achieving fifth place.
