Joe LaPorta is an American mastering engineer, music consultant and producer, best known for his work out of The Lodge (Mastering) in New York City.[1]

LaPorta is a Grammy nominated mastering engineer that has worked on records for artists[2] such as Foo Fighters, Björk, Garbage, Against Me!, Tiësto, Imagine Dragons, Vampire Weekend, The Villas, Ravi Shankar, The Killers, KRS One, Jeff Buckley, Moby, Junior Mance, Fall Out Boy, Beach House, Lil Jon, Armin Van Buuren, The Shins, The Raveonettes, Matt & Kim, BT,[3] Vanessa Carlton, Shiny Toy Guns, The National, Chromeo, Say Anything, Neon Indian, Bear in Heaven, The Walkmen, Dum Dum Girls, Ween, The Morning Benders and Twin Shadow.[4]
He also has also consulted on copyright infringement cases for The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Prince, Jay Z, Britney Spears, Shakira, Guns N’ Roses, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Sting, Phil Collins, Diddy, Alicia Keys and many others.[5]
In addition to his mastering and consulting experience, LaPorta has written & produced[6] for artists including 50 Cent, GZA (of the Wu Tang Clan), Talib Kweli, Pharoahe Monch and Cunninlynguists, in addition to licensing his tracks to major TV & film clients such as MTV, Showtime and Fox Network. His drum and bass work has received remix treatments from the likes of UK’s Total Science and Dom ‘n’ Roland.[7]
