I Would Die 4 U

"I Would Die 4 U" is a song by Prince and The Revolution, and the fourth single in the U.S. from their 1984 album, Purple Rain. The up-tempo dance song was a top 10 hit (the last from the album) in the U.S., reaching number 8 on the Hot 100.

"I Would Die 4 U" is often played in sequence with "Baby I'm a Star", the track following it, on Purple Rain.

Alternate versions

The extended version of "I Would Die 4 U" is actually a rehearsal jam on the song with The Revolution and musicians from Sheila E.'s band, Eddie M (on sax) and Miko Weaver (guitar), along with Sheila E. herself ; This version was recorded sometime before the Purple Rain Tour. The jam features some overdubbing and fades at the end; a longer version, nearly 31 minutes long, was never released officially, but has been bootlegged. The extended mix was also used as the B-side of the 1989 "Erotic City" single (the artwork of which features the same image of Prince that was used for this single's cover).

The B-side, "Another Lonely Christmas", is a sad account of a man mourning his lover who died on Christmas Day from pneumonia. The UK 12" single release also included the 1999 track "Free".

4 U is the first extended play (EP) release by Australian pop singer, Cody Simpson. It was released on 21 December, via Atlantic Records. The songs are mostly pop/R&B influenced.

The album's lead single, "iYiYi", was released on 1 June 2010. The second single, "All Day", was released on 17 March 2011.

Background

Simpson moved to Los Angeles in June 2010 to record his songs with Atlantic Records and his producer Campbell. On 4 December 2010, it was announced on Simpson's official website that an EP entitled 4 U would be released through iTunes on 21 December 2010. The EP includes 5 tracks in total, 4 of them being previously unreleased.

Tour

Simpson went on tour promoting 4U, making stops at various locations in the United States. Most notably, Simpson participated in the "Camplified 2010" tour in June. Other tours include a middle school tour that took place from October–November 2010 and covered 9 U.S States. From 9 April 2011 to 18 May 2011 he and Greyson Chance took part in the Waiting 4U tour. It started in Ivins, Utah and ended in Portland, Oregon.

Issues (Korn album)

Issues is the fourth studio album by American nu metal band Korn, released on November 16, 1999 through Immortal Records. Since its release, the album has sold over 13 million copies worldwide. The album was promoted throughout 2000 by the band's highly successful Sick and Twisted Tour.

Recording and production

During one of the band's recording sessions, journalist Chris Connelly asked about how the recording was coming along, to which drummer David Silveria responded that it "Sounds like the music is a little more simplified and heavier. Kind of heavier grooves, more than the last couple. So kind of more similar to the beginning, except Jon is a much better singer now, so it's all coming together."

In October 1999, Korn posted "Falling Away from Me" on their website as a free MP3 download, although it was against the advice of its attorneys. A statement on the band's site relates: "We're so psyched about [the new album] that we wanted to give all you guys, the true Korn fans — a gift from us." Also at this time, the band attempted to start an online chain email, by posting the letter online and asking fans to email the letter to 10 other people and to then sign the "I Downloaded the Korn Single For Free" guestbook on the band's site. For each person who signed, Korn donated 25 cents to the charities Childhelp USA and Children Of The Night. It raised over $250,000.
