Whitney Houston

Whitney Elizabeth Houston (August 9, 1963 – February 11, 2012) was an American singer, actress, producer, and model. In 2009, Guinness World Records cited her as the most awarded female act of all time. Houston is one of pop music's best-selling music artists of all-time, with an estimated 170–200 million records sold worldwide. She released seven studio albums and three movie soundtrack albums, all of which have diamond, multi-platinum, platinum or gold certification. Houston's crossover appeal on the popular music charts, as well as her prominence on MTV, starting with her video for "How Will I Know", influenced several African American women artists who follow in her footsteps.

Houston is the only artist to chart seven consecutive No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits. She is the second artist behind Elton John and the only woman to have two number-one Billboard 200 Album awards (formerly "Top Pop Albums") on the Billboard magazine year-end charts. Houston's 1985 debut album Whitney Houston became the best-selling debut album by a woman in history.Rolling Stone named it the best album of 1986, and ranked it at number 254 on the magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. Her second studio album Whitney (1987) became the first album by a woman to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart.

I Will Always Love You

"I Will Always Love You" is a song written and originally recorded by American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton. The country track was released on June 6, 1974 as the second single from Parton's thirteenth solo studio album, Jolene (1974). It was written for her one-time partner and mentor Porter Wagoner, as a farewell since they were professionally parting career paths as Dolly Parton had chosen to pursue a solo career.

Parton's version of "I Will Always Love You" attained commercial success, twice reaching number one on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. First, in June 1974 and again in 1982 when her rerecording of the song also reached number one October of that year. With that accomplishment, Parton became the first artist ever to earn a number one record twice with the same song. The song also won Parton Female Vocalist at the CMA Awards, in 1975.

Whitney Houston recorded a cover version of the song for the 1992 film The Bodyguard. Her single spent 14 weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It has since become one of the best-selling singles of all time. Houston's version of "I Will Always Love You" re-charted in 2012 after her death, making it only the second single ever to reach the top three on the Billboard Hot 100 in separate chart runs.

    Houston

Houston (i/ˈhjuːstən/ HYOO-stən) is the most populous city in Texas and the fourth most populous city in the United States. With a census-estimated 2014 population of 2.239 million people, within a land area of 599.6 square miles (1,553 km2), it also is the largest city in the Southern United States, as well as the seat of Harris County. It is the principal city of Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land, which is the fifth most populated metropolitan area in the United States.

Houston was founded in 1836 on land near the banks of Buffalo Bayou (now known as Allen's Landing) and incorporated as a city on June 5, 1837. The city was named after former General Sam Houston, who was president of the Republic of Texas and had commanded and won at the Battle of San Jacinto 25 miles (40 km) east of where the city was established. The burgeoning port and railroad industry, combined with oil discovery in 1901, has induced continual surges in the city's population. In the mid-twentieth century, Houston became the home of the Texas Medical Center—the world's largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions—and NASA's Johnson Space Center, where the Mission Control Center is located.

    Houston station (Texas)

Houston is an Amtrak intercity train station in Houston

    History

The present Houston station, which opened on October 26, 1959, was built by the Southern Pacific Railroad to replace Grand Central Station, which was just east of the present station. That station operated from September 1, 1934 until the property was sold to the U.S. Government in 1959 to become the site of the Houston main post office. Grand Central Station had replaced the original Houston & Texas Central depot of 1886. When Amtrak was created it was one of two stations in Houston that served Amtrak trains, the other being Union Station, now part of Minute Maid Park. All Amtrak trains moved to Southern Pacific Station by the end of July 1974, and all trains were canceled or rerouted out of Houston except the Sunset Limited. This station continued to be owned and operated by the Southern Pacific Railroad after the creation of Amtrak, and has been owned and operated by the Union Pacific Railroad since the merger of Southern Pacific and Union Pacific.

Till you get it right, tell em you will never quit
Tell em you will never quit until they day you get it right,
Till you get it right, hold your hand to the sky
Look em right in the eye, tell em you will never quit
Until the day you get it right
    Till you get it right
Tell em you will never quit, until the day you get it right
Till you get it right, hold your hand to the sky
Look em right in the eye, tell em you will never quit
Until the day you get it right
Single mother, two jobs, workin her fingers to the bone
Putting her daughters mouth before her own
She’s gotta do it, but she’s still feeling
Like there’s something deep inside that she can’t leave behind
She won’t let go of it, no matter how many times
She hears it over with, it’s all fixed in her mind
That it’s gonna get better and she won’t ever
Hang her head again, break a sweat again, never again
    Chorus:
Never never give up, never never give up,
No matter how many times, somebody tells you it ain’t working
Never never give up, never never give up,
Hold your head tot he sky, look them right in the eyes
Tell you will never quit until the day you get it right
Never never give up, never never give up,
Even though some days you’ll have to cry,
Shake it off and know that everything will be alright
As long as you never never give up, never never give up.
College student, paying her own way,
    Working the club at night
Look what she go through, to stay in law school
So maybe one day, she can make her way in a man’s world
And never be called just another girl
It ain’t nothing like a dream you can’t see
Even when the people round you don’t believe
But in the twelfth round, when you’re against the ropes,
Here comes your last minute miracle,
    You’ve got to know to
    Chorus:
Never never give up, never never give up,
No matter how many times, somebody tells you it ain’t working
Never never give up, never never give up,
Hold your head to the sky, look them right in the eyes
Tell you will never quit until the day you get it right
Never never give up, never never give up,
Even though some days you’ll have to cry,
Shake it off and know that everything will be alright
As long as you never never give up, never never give up.
The sky is the limit, for whatever you want to do
Don’t let anyone tell you, it ain’t possible
No matter how low you feel, keep going higher, higher
See I’ve been holding on, to my dreams too long
To watch it get away from me,
This hand is mine to win, and I promise you that
    I’ll never never give up
    [2 x Chorus:]
