I Missed Us

I Missed Us is the fourth studio album by American R&B group SWV released on April 17, 2012. This marks the group's first studio album since their disbandment in 1997. The album's lead single "Co-Sign" was released to radio stations December 15, 2011. The second single "Love Unconditionally" was released on May 8, 2012. The album's third single, "All About You" wasn't released until February 25, 2014, after their reality show SWV Reunited aired.

Background

I Missed Us is SWV's first album release in over a decade, following 1997's A Special Christmas and their disbandment the following year "amid plenty of dissension, to pursue individual projects and focus on their families". Michael J. Feeney of NY Daily News wrote the "road to recording “I Missed Us” wasn’t easy". Whilst discussing the break-up, group member Leanne Lyons said; “there were times we weren’t speaking” because "we allowed people to tear us apart". In addition to this, she explained; "we tried to do our own thing individually, then we realized we’re much stronger together" and that they "had to go through a transition of maturity".

Miss

Miss (pronounced /ˈmɪs/) is an English language honorific traditionally used only for an unmarried woman (not using another title such as "Doctor" or "Dame"). Originating in the 17th century, it is a contraction of mistress, which was used for all women. A period is not used to signify the contraction. Its counterparts are Mrs., usually used only for married women, and Ms., which can be used for married or unmarried women.

The plural Misses may be used, such as in The Misses Doe. The traditional French "Mesdemoiselles" (abbreviation "Mlles") may also be used as the plural in English language conversation or correspondence.

Use as a title (honorific) in the United States

The usage of "Miss" as a title in the United States is most frequently seen when referring to girls under eighteen–. Though Miss is less commonly used as a title by unmarried adult women in the United States than in the past, some still prefer to be referred to as such. Twenty-first century etiquette honors an adult woman's personal preference of title. However, if the preference is not known, "Ms." is used. "Ms." is the preferred choice as the female title in business. It is the equivalent to the male title "Mr." as neither is marital status specific.

Chapter One (Ella Henderson album)

Chapter One is the debut studio album by British singer and songwriter Ella Henderson. It was released on 10 October 2014 by Syco Music. Chapter One reached number one in the UK in its first week of release. The album was preceded by the internationally successful single, "Ghost", as well as UK singles "Glow", "Yours" and "Mirror Man". In January 2015, the album was certified Platinum in the UK, shipping in excess of 300,000 copies.

Background

On 18 November 2012, Henderson finished in sixth place on the ninth series of The X Factor, despite being the favourite to win. On 15 December, whilst being interviewed on the RTÉ chat show The Saturday Night Show, she revealed that she had signed a record deal with Sony Music. On 22 January 2013, Henderson confirmed she had signed to Simon Cowell's record label Syco Music. Regarding her decision to sign with Syco, Henderson said, "The most important thing I was looking for was to be involved creatively, and which label presents me with the best team to bring the best out of me. The fact that [Cowell] is letting me be involved creatively is overwhelming." In an interview with Digital Spy, Henderson said that, "I wanted each song to explain a situation, and then [for] the next song [to] kind of get you through that. I write very openly and lyrically, so it's very much like an open diary. I had to make sure it runs like that. It took me a while to get the tracklisting right, but I'm happy with it now."

Myst

Myst is a graphic adventure puzzle video game designed and directed by the brothers Robyn and Rand Miller. It was developed by Cyan, Inc. and published by Brøderbund. The Millers began working on Myst in 1991 and released it for the Macintosh on September 24, 1993; it was developer Cyan's largest project to date. Remakes and ports of the game have been released for platforms including Sega Saturn, PlayStation, 3DO, Microsoft Windows, Atari Jaguar CD, CD-i, AmigaOS, PlayStation Portable, Nintendo DS, iOS, and OS X.

Myst puts the player in the role of the Stranger, who uses a special book to travel to the island of Myst. There, the player uses other special books written by an artisan and explorer named Atrus to travel to several worlds known as "Ages". Clues found in each of these Ages help to reveal the back-story of the game's characters. The game has several endings, depending on the course of action the player takes.

Upon release, Myst was a surprise hit, with critics lauding the ability of the game to immerse players in the fictional world. The game was the best-selling PC game until The Sims exceeded its sales in 2002.Myst helped drive adoption of the then-nascent CD-ROM format. Myst's success spawned four direct video game sequels as well as several spin-off games and novels.
