I Love Your Smile

"I Love Your Smile" is a hit single recorded by R&B singer Shanice and released in 1991 as the first single from her album Inner Child. The song features saxophonist Branford Marsalis. It met success in many countries, including U.S., where it reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

It went to number one on the Billboard R&B charts, where it stayed number one for 4 weeks in December 1991.

To date, it is her best known and most successful hit.Talib Kweli referenced the song in his single "Hot Thing".

Background and writing

The song features a saxophone solo by Branford Marsalis. The radio and video version of the song edits out the rap bridge from the album version. Janet Jackson and René Elizondo, Jr. can be heard laughing at the end of the song. The track was crafted by producer Louis Biancaniello and the vocals were captured by producer Narada Michael Walden.

Music video

In the music video, Shanice is in a studio having several pictures taken by a photographer. One scene shows her in a leather jacket, another has her sitting in a chair in front of a microphone stand, and another has her dancing with several backup dancers. In the middle of the video, Shanice walks through the park and the photographer hides behind a tree while he takes more pictures of her. At the end, Shanice offers to take a picture of a family, and then takes a picture of the photographer.

"Your Smile" is a 1986 R&B/Soul single from American singing duo René & Angela. Released on February 5, 1986, It was the third single from René & Angela's album, Street Called Desire. "Your Smile" was the duo's second number-one single on Billboard's R&B chart. It was also a minor hit on the Billboard Hot 100 peaking at number sixty-two. Along with the track, " Drive My Love", "Your Smile" was minor hit on the U.S. Dance chart, peaking at number forty-seven.

The programs consist of celebrities discussing American pop culture that relate to the program's overall topic. The series continued with programs focusing on decades, such as I Love the '70s, as well as doing sequels to previously done decades, such as I Love the '80s Strikes Back. 2008 featured the premiere of I Love the New Millennium, the first series to be completed before the end of the decade presented. The series has so far released two programs that were not focused on decades, with I Love Toys and I Love the Holidays. The use of the word "love" instead of the heart symbol was presumably to avoid a trademark dispute with the state of New York, owners of the I♥ trademark in the United States.

It examines the pop culture of the 1970s, using footage from the era, along with "Where Are They Now?" interviews with celebrities from the decade. Additionally, the show features comedians poking fun at the kitschiness of what was popular. The first episode of the series, I Love 1970, premiered on August 18, 2003, through the final episode of the series, I Love 1979, premiered on August 22, 2003. A sequel, I Love the '70s: Volume 2, appeared in the United States on VH1 beginning on July 10, 2006.
