I Love Music (forum)

I Love Music (ILM) is an Internet popular music forum started by pop critic Tom Ewing in August 2000 as an adjunct to his music website, Freaky Trigger.

Notable posters have included Momus,Simon Reynolds, Philip Sherburne, Drew Daniel of Matmos and The Soft Pink Truth,John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats, Frank Kogan, Ned Raggett, former The Wire editor Mark Sinker, former Village Voice music editor Chuck Eddy, Peter Chung (creator of Æon Flux) and Fluxblog author Matthew Perpetua.

I Love Music shares server space with its sister board, I Love Everything, which was introduced in June 2001. Several other boards contained on the site have sprung up in the years since including All Noise Dude Summertime Fun Board and Pickle Bar, Cape of Good Hope, I Love Books, I Love Games, I Love NFL and De Subjectivisten.

As of February 2013, ILX is hosted on a server (paid for by board users) in Canada. Running costs are paid by yearly funding drives.

ILM has been mentioned in The New York Times as a "critic-infested" site.Entertainment Weekly ranked ILM 14th on its list of the 25 best music websites. A thread from I Love Music was published in the music writing annual Da Capo Best Music Writing 2002. An ILM thread on M.I.A. was mentioned in articles about her that appeared in Slate and The Guardian.

I Love Music (The O'Jays song)

"I Love Music" is a disco song written by Gamble and Huff and recorded by The O'Jays. It appeared on the group's 1975 album Family Reunion. The single version went to number one on the soul singles chart and reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100. In the UK, the song peaked at number 13 in the Top 40 singles charts, in March 1976. The single was most successful on the disco charts spending eight weeks at number one.

Cover versions

In 1976, a live cover version appears on the album LIVE performed by 3M Productions, also known as Major Harris, Blue Magic and Margie Joseph, recorded at the Latin Casino. In 1990, Chicago House music vocalist Darryl Pandy released a version of the song on Warner Bros. Records remaining faithful to the original version. The track featured a prominent keyboard riff, brass, and a driving House beat. In 1993 the Zambian born singer Rozalla covered "I Love Music" on her album Look No Further. Her version of the song also appeared on the soundtrack to the film Carlito's Way.

The programs consist of celebrities and public figures discussing, reminiscing and commenting on the pop culture of the time i.e. films, fads, fashion, television, music etc. that relate to the program's overall topic.

VH1 series

VH1 produced a USA version of the series of this show for American television, beginning in 2002 with I Love the '80s. The programs consist of celebrities discussing American pop culture that relate to the program's overall topic. The series continued with programs focusing on decades, such as I Love the '70s, as well as doing sequels to previously done decades, such as I Love the '80s Strikes Back. 2008 featured the premiere of I Love the New Millennium, the first series to be completed before the end of the decade presented. The series has so far released two programs that were not focused on decades, with I Love Toys and I Love the Holidays. The use of the word "love" instead of the heart symbol was presumably to avoid a trademark dispute with the state of New York, owners of the I♥ trademark in the United States.

I Love the '80s is a decade nostalgia television program that was produced by VH1, based on the BBC series of the same name. The first episode, "I Love 1980", premiered on December 16, 2002, through the final episode, "I Love 1989", premiered on December 20, 2002.

I Love the '70s (U.S. TV series)

I Love the '70s is a decade nostalgia television mini-series produced by VH1. The series is based on a BBC series of the same name. It examines the pop culture of the 1970s, using footage from the era, along with "Where Are They Now?" interviews with celebrities from the decade. Additionally, the show features comedians poking fun at the kitschiness of what was popular. The first episode of the series, I Love 1970, premiered on August 18, 2003, through the final episode of the series, I Love 1979, premiered on August 22, 2003. A sequel, I Love the '70s: Volume 2, appeared in the United States on VH1 beginning on July 10, 2006.

Ali Love

Ali Love (born Alexander Williams, 1979) is an English musician, singer and songwriter. Previously signed to Columbia Records as a solo artist, he is now a member of the house music band Hot Natured and the duo Infinity Ink.

In 2006 Ali Love released his first two singles, "K-Hole" and "Camera on a Pole" on his own independent label "I Love Records". He rose to the limelight providing vocals for The Chemical Brothers hit, "Do It Again", for their 2007 album, We Are the Night. "Do It Again" was synched to the world wide commercial for Paco Rabanne "1 Million" and "Lady Million".

In 2007 Ali released his first major single, "Secret Sunday Lover". This was followed by "Late Night Session" on Columbia Records.

In 2008 Ali parted company with Columbia Records and, although his originally scheduled debut album, Love Music, was set for release shortly after "Late Night Session", it remains commercially unreleased.
