"High" is a 1988 song recorded by French artist David Hallyday. It was the second of the four singles from his debut studio album True Cool. Released in November 1988, the song was a hit in France, becoming David Hallyday's first number-one single.

The song was composed by Lisa Catherine Cohen and the music composed by the singer himself. As for the rest of the album, lyrics are in English-language. The music video was shot in a church, Hallyday playing the organ, while a chorus composed of women chanted 'high' during the refrains. With this vigorous song, Hallyday presents "a musical style at the joint of Californian rock and pop".[1]
In France, the single debuted on the singles chart at #45 on November 19, 1988, climbed quickly and entered the top ten in its fourth week. It topped the chart for five consecutive weeks, then almost didn't stop to drop on the chart and totaled 15 weeks in the top ten and 23 weeks in the top 50.[2] Although it was not certified by the SNEP, the French certificator, its sales made the song the 440th best-selling single of all time in France.[3] The song was the most successful from the album True Cool and the second one in Hallyday's career, behind "Tu ne m'as pas laissé le temps".
The song was also released in UK with another cover single, but failed to reach the chart.

Owen and Mzee are a hippopotamus and an Aldabra giant tortoise, respectively, that became the subject of media attention after forming an unusual bond of friendship. They live in Haller Park, Bamburi, Kenya.
Owen was separated from his herd as a juvenile following the December 2004 tsunami and was brought to the Haller Park rescue center. Having no other hippos to interact with, Owen immediately attempted to bond with Mzee, whose large domed shell and brown color resembled an adult hippo. They formed an odd friendship that continued until 2006, when it was determined that Owen had grown too large to safely interact with Mzee. A separate enclosure was built for Owen and a new (female) hippo named Cleo, with whom he bonded quickly. With Owen now twice Mzee's size and well on his way to being socialized to other hippos, the famous friends went their separate ways and Mzee was returned to his regular enclosure.
Owen (first name and dates unknown) was an English first-class cricketer associated with Cambridge Town Club who was active in the 1820s. He is recorded in one match, totalling 16 runs with a highest score of 8.
i got high with an art teacher of mine
i learned how to paint portraits and landscapes with perspective
but i've been sitting here
the better part of eighteen years
blank stare blank canvas
i'm in need of a new view
of some new scenery to render
there's a boat leaving
where it goes, well i don't know
i've been buried alive
my history teacher by my side
lest i forget those mistakes that better men have made
the battles fought and lost
small victories at what cost?
the curriculum is dated, my inspiration fading
a slow setting sun
there's a boat leaving
where it goes, well i don't know
but if it floats i'm getting on
with or without you
the winds are strong enough
our native tongues will fail us
oh the pleasure i would take
in renaming everything
there are boats leaving
where they go, well i don't know
but it's a chance to see something new
