Feel (Robbie Williams song)

"Feel" is a song by British singer-songwriter Robbie Williams. It was released on December 2, 2002 as the lead single from his fifth studio album, Escapology. The song became an international hit, reaching the top of the charts in Austria, Poland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, and top five positions in countries such as Denmark, Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Background

"Feel" was written by Robbie Williams and Guy Chambers. According to Williams, most of the vocals are from the original demo recording, as he felt unsatisfied with the re-recorded vocals. He commented, "I just couldn't sing it as well as I did on that day."

Music video

The video shows Williams in a cowboy-like lifestyle. It gained some attention in the United States thanks to Daryl Hannah's appearance as Williams's love interest. There were two versions of the same video, one shot in black and white and the other in colour.

Chart performance

The song was aimed to become the Christmas number-one in the United Kingdom, but peaked at #4. It still spent four weeks inside the Top 10, however. "Feel" became Williams's biggest international hit and his best selling single in Europe: the song topped the charts in Argentina, Hungary, Italy, India, Latvia, Portugal and the Netherlands. The song was also successful in Mexico and in Canada, where it reached in the Top 10 and spent a total of 54 weeks in the chart. Despite Williams's major success in the most of the world, "Feel" failed to reach the Billboard Hot 100 in the USA. To date, "Feel" has sold 245,000 copies in the UK.

Feel (Glenn Hughes album)

Feel is a studio album by former Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and Trapeze vocalist/ bassist Glenn Hughes. It was released in 1995 on Zero Corporation and SPV records and was Hughes’ fourth solo studio album.

History

Feel is an album Hughes’ claims he made for himself, as he was 'tired of being told what to do' . It is distinctive to Hughes’ other work in that the album has more of a pop, soul and funk sound rather than the hard rock he is generally known for.

This CD marks the first collaboration between Hughes and Pat Thrall since the 1982 Hughes/Thrall album, Thrall plays guitar on eight of the thirteen tracks and co-wrote two of them. Also performing on the album are former Guns N' Roses, now Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum, former Stevie Wonder keyboardist Greg Phillinganes and guitarists Bruce Gowdy and George Nastos.

This is the first solo studio album Hughes made that featured his bass playing on every track since 1977's Play Me Out.

Feel features a cover of the Stevie Wonder song Maybe Your Baby from Talking Book. The Japanese version of the album also includes a new recording of the Deep Purple track Holy Man, which originally featured on Stormbringer.

Alive! (Grant Green album)

Alive! is an album by American jazz guitarist Grant Green featuring a performance recorded at the Cliche Lounge in Newark, New Jersey in 1970 and released on the Blue Note label. The album was Green's first official live recording. The CD reissue added three bonus tracks.

Reception

The Allmusic review by Steve Huey awarded the album 4 stars and stated "Alive! is the hardest funk LP Grant Green recorded during the later phase of his career... this is the most convincing and consistent Green had been as a funkster and, while nearly all of his albums from the early '70s feature at least some worthwhile material for acid jazz and beat-sampling junkies, Alive! is probably the best place to start".

"Alive" is a R&B song by American singer-songwriter Mýa. The track was produced by DJ Komori and UTA for Manhattan Records compilation album Exclusive 2000-2010 DECADE BEST. "Alive" was written by Lil Eddie, Deanna, and Harrison.

"Alive" was released September 22, 2010 in Japan via iTunes as the first single from Manhattan Records compilation album Exclusive 2000-2010 DECADE BEST and featured on Mýa's sixth studio album K.I.S.S.

"Alive" is the winner's single by season five winner of The X Factor Australia, Dami Im. It was released digitally on 28 October 2013, as the lead single from her self-titled second album. "Alive" was written and produced by DNA Songs. Four days after its release in Australia, the song debuted at number one on the ARIA Singles Chart. It was certified Platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association for selling over 70,000 copies.

Background and release

"Alive" was written by Anthony Egizii and David Musumeci. It was also produced by Egizii and Musumeci under their production name DNA. After winning The X Factor, "Alive" was released for digital download in Australia on 28 October 2013, as Im's winner's single. On 1 November 2013, "Alive" was released for digital download in South Korea on various music sites.

Chart performance

Four days after its release in Australia, "Alive" debuted at number one on the ARIA Singles Chart with first-week sales of 44,025 copies. One day after its release in South Korea, "Alive" debuted at number 51 on the South Korea Gaon International Digital Chart, for the week spanning from 27 October 2013 to 2 November 2013. The following week, 3 November 2013 to 9 November 2013, "Alive" rose to number 29.

Kill the Lights (The New Cities album)

Kill the Lights is the second full-length album by the synthpop rock band The New Cities. Released on September 27, 2011, it includes the single, "Heatwave", that was released to radio on June 16, 2011. Written by The New Cities and The Matrix, "Heatwave" has reached No. 38 on the Canadian Hot 100.Heatwave also features a melody from the song Tarzan Boy, popularized in 1985 by Baltimora.

The album debuted at #52 in Canada.
