The Best (aka The Best of t.A.T.u., t.A.T.u. The Best) is a CD/ set from the Russian group t.A.T.u. featuring hit singles, rare mixes, three previously unreleased tracks, a live concert, music videos and more. There are two versions of the set, one with only a CD, and another with a CD and a DVD (sometimes referred to as the "Deluxe Edition"). In Korea, the Deluxe Edition came with a poster. In the U.S., only the CD version was sold, and only in Best Buy stores. However, for U.S. online retailers, it was available, and for some by import from Korea.
The Best was t.A.T.u.'s final release with the Universal Music Group label. Previously they went through Universal International.
The set was released on September 4, 2006 in Korea and Brazil, September 11 in Europe, September 27 in Japan, September 29 in Germany and October 10 in the U.S. It was later releases on the iTunes Store on November 7. There were different releases of the album, including a cassette, compact disc, DVD and Vinyl.
The Best is a compilation video released by Bonfire in 1993 which contained all the band's promotional videos from 1986 to 1993. It also includes footage of the band during recording sessions and tours. This package was released when the band's album Live...The Best came out and was basically a way of saying thank you to the fans. By the time this was released, Claus Lessmann was replaced in the band with Michael Bormann.
"The Best" is a song written by Mike Chapman and Holly Knight, originally recorded by Bonnie Tyler on her 1988 release Hide Your Heart. The single reached number 10 in Norway and number 95 in the United Kingdom.
The single was released on a CD in 1988 along with two rare tracks that Tyler recorded, "The Fire Below" and "Under Suspicion".
The song was later covered by Tina Turner, and released as a highly successful single in 1989. It was included on her hit album Foreign Affair. The saxophone solo on Turner's version is played by Edgar Winter.
Holly Knight told Songfacts: "'Simply the Best' is one of those rare gems that's a positive song, and it's not cheesy. But the hard part is to write something in a positive mode that really is sincere — that's a tall order."
In 1992 Turner recorded "(Simply) The Best", a duet version of the song with Australian rock singer Jimmy Barnes, to promote that year's New South Wales Rugby League season in Australia. The single subsequently appeared on a limited edition bonus disc as part of the Australian release of her compilation album Simply The Best.

Hitomi Furuya (古谷 仁美, Furuya Hitomi, born January 26, 1976), known mononymously as hitomi, is a Japanese singer-songwriter. She began her career as model, but after meeting Tetsuya Komuro he began managing her career as a pop singer. In 1998 she left the "Komuro Family" and started working with other musicians and producers, oriented to other musical genres such as pop rock, and more recently to electropop.
Born Hitomi Furuya (古谷 仁美, Furuya Hitomi) in Tochigi, Japan, Hitomi's family relocated to Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture when she was a child. Consequently, Hitomi always identified herself as a girl from Kanagawa. hitomi was an enthusiastic athlete throughout her childhood, playing baseball, soccer, and basketball, as well as an avid reader of manga. When hitomi was 16 years old, she was spotted and approached by a scout from a modelling agency. Hitomi signed a short modelling contract and began appearing in magazines while she was still in high school.
In 1993, then 17 years old, Furuya was spotted by eminent Avex music producer Tetsuya Komuro at an audition. Komuro signed Furuya to Avex, put Furuya through vocal training, and decided that she should use an all-lowercase 'hitomi' as her stage name. The following year, in November 1994, hitomi released her debut single, "Let's Play Winter", through Avex Trax, to which she wrote the lyrics. Since then, Hitomi has been the lyricist for almost all of her songs.

Attention true believers
And other people
We are here today to pay our final and our first respects to the dearly departed! But first! I'd like you all to join me in a song, In honor of me.
I am the best.
No one else is any better
Maybe they're as good, but that's still a tie for the best.
No one else is me,
I'm the best Round guy in the U-u-universe!
Maybe there's a cube out there,
And they could be pretty good,
But I haven't met them yet,
We don't hang out

I am the best
I am the best
Back me up aliens
I am the big dog, top of the line.
Numero Uno, man!
Listen! I'm the illest ORB you know it
GOD OF THE orbs, church is the name,
Discard other orbs, church is the name,
Nobody is better and I know you feel the same.
I'm so rare
I'm floatin' through the air, that all the other orbs ain't even in my atmosphere!
They know to clear the way when the best come through
Because I'm just the best and there's nothin' they can do.
(Uh)
Many tried, but just can't beat me
They all say it's hard but to me it's rather easy
To do what I do, better then the rest
It takes four words, I Am THE BEST!
