Hush (novel)

Hush is a 2010 novel written under the pseudonym Eishes Chayil. In August 2011, the author revealed herself as Judy Brown, the daughter of Ruthie Lichtenstein, the publisher of Hamodia. It deals with sexual abuse in the Hasidic Jewish community of Boro Park, Brooklyn and is based on experiences the author claims to have witnessed. Hush was selected as a Best Book of the Year by Kirkus Reviews.

Une Année

Une Année is the first full-length studio album by South Korean girl group Apink. It was released on May 9, 2012, and marked the final release for member Yookyung. The title track, "Hush", was used to promote the album.

Background and composition

Two of the songs from the album, "I Got You" and "Sky High", were a collaboration with Joker. The group also worked with Shinsadong Tiger, Super Changddai, and Kim Geonwoo.

Singles

The first single from the album, "April 19th", was released digitally on April 19, 2012.

The album's title track, "Hush", was released on May 9, 2012. The song's music video was released on May 8, and a dance practice music video was released on May 14. A Japanese version of "Hush" was later included as a B-side on Apink's Japanese single, "Mr. Chu". The promotions for "Hush" started in May 10, 2012, on Mnet's M! Countdown.

The third single, "Bubibu", was released digitally on July 6, 2012. The single was chosen through an online poll that the group ran through Mnet's website where they asked fans to choose the track for their follow-up promotions. The single version is a remix of the album version. The fourth single, "Cat", was released three days after the third single "Bubibu".

Hush (Emily Osment and Josh Ramsay song)

"Hush" is a song written by American singer Emily Osment and Canadian singer Josh Ramsay. They decided to collaborate when Osment went on a trip to Canada to film a movie, and met Ramsay. They immediately hit it off, and decided to write a song together. It officially premiered on Much Music on April 26, 2011. The song was sent to Canadian radio on May 10, 2011, and released to Canada's iTunes Store on the same day. Osment confirmed on her official Twitter that there will be a music video for the song to be released in September.

Hush (comics)

Hush is a fictional supervillain who appears in American comic books published by DC Comics. He is usually depicted as an enemy of Batman.

Publication history

Hush first appeared in Batman #609 (January 2003), as part of the 12-issue storyline Batman: Hush where he was created by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee. Hush resurfaced in Batman: Gotham Knights, and later in Detective Comics and Batman: Streets of Gotham. He has recently reemerged as the architect behind several of the events of Batman Eternal.

Origin

Dr. Thomas "Tommy" Elliot was a childhood friend of Bruce Wayne, and was also born into a wealthy family. The two boys often played a stratego-like game together, and Tommy taught Bruce to think like his opponents and to use their abilities against them in order to win, which proved useful years later when the latter became Batman. Tommy despised both his abusive father and his frail, submissive mother, who came from poverty and willingly endures every abuse dealt to her and her son to keep her lavish lifestyle. For all their failings, however, Tommy's parents made sure he was well-educated, in particular teaching him about the philosophy of Aristotle, which he often quotes.

Moon of Israel (novel)

Moon of Israel is a novel by Rider Haggard, first published in 1918 by John Murray. The novel narrates the events of the Biblical Exodus from Egypt told from the perspective of a scribe named Ana.

Haggard dedicated his novel to Sir Gaston Maspero, a distinguished Egyptologist and director of Cairo Museum.

Adaptation

His novel was the basis of a script by Ladislaus Vajda, for film-director Michael Curtiz in his 1924 Austrian epic known as Die Sklavenkönigin, or "Queen of the Slaves".

Plot

Sethunath (Jayaram) is a prosperous business man and also a writer. However, when his creation titled 'Swantham' becomes a best seller and bags the commonwealth awards. The writer is the least interested so much so that he is not even aware who translated his work & earned the award for the book.

Aneesa, a journalist, is determined to get a personal interview with her favorite writer Sethu and does not hesitate to get it at the expense of bribing Sethu's secretary Subramaniam Swamy and finally succeeds. Luckily for her, Sethu is impressed with her resilience and also the fact that she comes from the same orphanage that he hailed from makes him open his heart. He talks about his failed marriage and Priyanandini (Sadha) whom he encounters during the making of a lottery commercial. Gradually, Priya reaches the pinnacle of stardom with the support of Sethu.
