A hangover /ˈhæŋoʊvə/ (medical terminology: veisalgia from Norwegian: kveis, discomfort following overindulgence, and Greek: αλγία algia, pain) is the experience of various unpleasant physiological and psychological effects following consumption of ethanol, which can last for more than 24 hours. Typical symptoms of a hangover may include headache, drowsiness, concentration problems, dry mouth, dizziness, fatigue, gastrointestinal distress, absence of hunger, sweating, nausea, hyper-excitability and anxiety.
While the causes of a hangover are still poorly understood, several factors are known to be involved including acetaldehyde accumulation, changes in the immune system and glucose metabolism, dehydration, metabolic acidosis, disturbed prostaglandin synthesis, increased cardiac output, vasodilation, sleep deprivation and malnutrition. Beverage-specific effects of additives or by-products such as congeners also play an important role. The symptoms occur typically after the intoxicating effect of the alcohol begins to wear off, generally the morning after a night of heavy drinking.
Unexpected is the third solo studio album by American singer Michelle Williams, released via Columbia Records and Music World Entertainment in North America on October 7, 2008 (see 2008 in music). It is Williams' first full length dance-influenced commercial pop album, moving away from the gospel style of her previous efforts. Unexpected was Williams' last release through Columbia.
Recording sessions for the album originally began in 2005, with the songs being mostly mid-tempo contemporary R&B and soul songs, however, after playing the "first sketch" of the album to her mother, Williams says she was "challenged" to go back and record songs that "people could dance to" and so in 2007 Williams began working extensively with producer, songwriter and arranger Rico Love to create an entirely new album – which Williams would later sum up simply as "unexpected". Unexpected fuses dance-pop, R&B and electronic music to form a wide selection of up-tempo, beat-driven, club-oriented songs which gradually calm into slower material more R&B in sound and style.
Jason White (born November 11, 1973) is an American musician best known as a guitarist for the American punk rock band Green Day. He played as a touring member of Green Day since 1999 until 2012, where he became an official member of the band, with Green Day becoming a four-piece group. He is also the guitarist and vocalist for the Californian punk band Pinhead Gunpowder, and co-founder of Adeline Records alongside Billie Joe Armstrong.
In late 2014, he was diagnosed with tonsil cancer.
In the Summer of 1992, White filled in guitar duties at the last minute for Bay Area punk band Monsula, who were performing at Little Rock, AR club Vino's. After the performance, Jason toured as guitarist for the band and eventually relocated to the Bay Area after the breakup of Chino Horde in summer 1993. White joined The Big Cats in 1996, after the temporary departure of bassist Josh Bentley, and took over guitar duties in 2000 after the death of guitarist Shannon Yarbrough. The group is a side project of many musicians, playing live very rarely. Their newest record, On Tomorrow, was released in 2007.
I went to the local bar and got pissed again
That's where they throw me out every now and then
Too drunk to behave, unconsious on the floor
Last night was of course not different at all
I drank to much to walk and I punched instead of talk
That must be a reason why they threw me out so soon
HUNGOVER - post-alcoholic living dead
HUNGOVER - the room is spinning around my head
HUNGOVER - shaking in the pool of sweat
HUNGOVER - you bet!
Punding headache, the morning after is here
Loss of memory, drank too many beers
Don't know where I am, again I slept in my clothes
Have to pick some dried vomits from my nose
The cash I had is gone, don't know what's said or done
I only have some flashbacks and a head that doesn't fit
HUNGOVER - post-alcoholic living dead
HUNGOVER - the room is spinning around my head
HUNGOVER - shaking in the pool of sweat
HUNGOVER - you bet!
I wish this day would pass on really quick
Can't even think of booze without feeling sick
Disgusted by the thought of tasting beer
But the thirst is back when the afternoon is here
My hands still shake like leafs, I need alcoholic relief
Now the thirst sets in again and I accept it with a smile
HUNGOVER - post-alcoholic living dead
HUNGOVER - the room is spinning around my head
HUNGOVER - shaking in the pool of sweat
HUNGOVER - you bet!
HUNGOVER - post-alcoholic living dead
HUNGOVER - the room is spinning around my head
HUNGOVER - shaking in the pool of sweat
