Howling (The Saints album)

Howling is the ninth studio album released by The Saints. The album was their first release after an eight-year recording hiatus. This time Chris Bailey chose to lose the big production of the 1980s records to make an album that was more akin to the early Saints punk sound. However, instead of teaming up with the original members Bailey again employed a new line-up for the band, making this The Saints Mark III. The album was released to mixed reviews in mid 1996 in Australia and in 1997 everywhere else in the world.

Howling (2012 film)

Howling (Hangul: 하울링; RR: Haulling; MR: Haŏulring) is a 2012 South Korean film written and directed by Yoo Ha based on the 1996 novel The Hunter (凍える牙 lit. "Freezing Fang") by Japanese writer Asa Nonami. The plot follows two detectives, a veteran male cop (Song Kang-ho) and female rookie (Lee Na-young), who discover that the serial killer they are after is not human, but instead a dog.

Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf

Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf (original title: Howling II: Stirba – Werewolf Bitch) is a 1985 horror film directed by Philippe Mora, as a sequel to the 1981 film The Howling. The film stars horror film veteran Christopher Lee along with Reb Brown and Annie McEnroe as they try to defeat Sybil Danning's werewolf queen Stirba and stop werewolves' plans to conquer the world. Although Gary Brandner, author of The Howling novels, co-wrote the screenplay, the Howling II film is largely unrelated to his Howling II novel from 1979, though it does introduce Eastern European customs and Romani into its werewolf mythology like the book.

Plot

Ben White (Reb Brown) attends the funeral of his sister, journalist Karen White, the heroine of the previous film. Ben meets both Jenny Templeton (Annie McEnroe), one of Karen's colleagues, and Stefan Crosscoe (Christopher Lee), a mysterious interloper who tells him Karen was a werewolf. Providing videotaped evidence of the transformation – and turning up to destroy Karen as her undead body rises from the grave – Crosscoe convinces Ben and Jenny to accompany him to Transylvania to battle Stirba (Sybil Danning), an immortal werewolf queen. Along the way, the trio encounter Mariana (Marsha Hunt), another lusty werewolf siren, and her minion Erle (Ferdy Mayne).

Vomiting

Vomiting, also known as emesis and throwing up, among other terms, is the involuntary, forceful expulsion of the contents of one's stomach through the mouth and sometimes the nose.

Vomiting can be caused by a wide variety of conditions; it may present as a specific response to ailments like gastritis or poisoning, or as a non-specific sequela of disorders ranging from brain tumors and elevated intracranial pressure to overexposure to ionizing radiation. The feeling that one is about to vomit is called nausea, which often precedes, but does not always lead to, vomiting. Antiemetics are sometimes necessary to suppress nausea and vomiting. In severe cases, where dehydration develops, intravenous fluid may be required.

Vomiting is different from regurgitation, although the two terms are often used interchangeably. Regurgitation is the return of undigested food back up the esophagus to the mouth, without the force and displeasure associated with vomiting. The causes of vomiting and regurgitation are generally different.

Father, Son, Holy Ghost (album)

Father, Son, Holy Ghost is the second and final studio album by San Francisco rock band Girls, released September 13, 2011 on True Panther Sounds in the United States, September 12, 2011 on Fantasytrashcan/Turnstile in Europe, September 7, 2011 in Japan on Fantasytrashcan/Turnstile and September 14 in Mexico on Arts & Crafts México. Three singles were released from the album; "Vomit", "Honey Bunny" and "My Ma", the latter of which was released exclusively on vinyl with a limited 1000 copies in print. The album peaked at #37 on the Billboard 200 and received critical acclaim upon its release.

A significant departure from the band's previous work, Father, Son, Holy Ghost elaborated with lavish production, gospel choirs and a more varied instrumentation that resulted in a sound that spanned various genres such as surf rock, folk, soul, hard rock, and even progressive rock. Unlike the group's debut Album, it was not exclusively produced by the band themselves but was a collaboration with veteran engineer Doug Boehm. The album's sound and composition style was noted to be part of a trend of modern indie revivalism artists who reach back decades into the past for inspiration, with songs such as "Honey Bunny", "Love Like a River" and lead single "Vomit" in particular being heavily influenced by music from the 1960s and 1970s. Of the album's 'old' style of production and the evolution of the band's sound, one critic noted "(Father, Son, Holy Ghost) eschews Album's ramshackle scrappiness for the classic-rock-radio sophistication of Billy Preston-era Beatles and early-70s Pink Floyd."

Wind (band)

Wind is the name of a German musical group that mostly plays "schlager" music. The band is still active, more than 20 years after its foundation.

History

The group was started in 1985 by the composer Hanne Haller. The members of the band at that time were Alexander "Ala" Heiler, Christiane von Kutschenbach, Rainer Höglmeier, Willie Jakob, Sami Kalifa and Petra Scheeser.

The group has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest for Germany three times. The first time was shortly after the formation of the band, in Eurovision 1985. With the song "Für alle" ("For All") they finished second, just behind the winning duo Bobbysocks from Norway. In 1987 Wind returned to the contest, performing "Laß die Sonne in dein Herz" ("Let the Sun in Your Heart") in Brussels, Belgium. Once again they achieved a second place, this time behind Johnny Logan who represented Ireland. "Laß die Sonne in dein Herz" has since become the band's trademark tune, including welcoming visitors to their official website. Wind entered Eurovision for a third time in 1992 in Malmö, Sweden, with the song "Träume sind für alle da" ("Dreams Are For Everyone"). This time they were not as successful, finishing 16th of 23 participants. According to John Kennedy O'Connor in his book The Eurovision Song Contest: The Official History, Wind are the only act to ever finish second in the contest on two occasions.

Wind Mobile

Wind Mobile is a Canadian wireless telecommunications provider operated by Globalive. It was one of several new mobile carriers launched in Canada after a government initiative to encourage competition in the wireless sector, alongside Mobilicity (later acquired by Rogers Communications) and Public Mobile (later acquired by Telus). With 940,000 active subscribers, Wind is Canada's fourth-largest mobile operator.

Wind initially launched mobile data and voice services in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area, Ontario on December 16, 2009 and two days later in Calgary, Alberta. Since then, Southern Ontario has been the main target of network expansion: first with Ottawa in Q1 2011, and then with about half a dozen additional regions, the most recent being Brantford on July 3, 2014. In Western Canada, coverage was added to Edmonton, Alberta and has expanded around Edmonton to include Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, St. Albert and Edmonton International Airport; additionally, British Columbia was also added for most of Greater Vancouver area plus Abbotsford and Whistler.
