Ride is a 1998 American comedy film written and directed by Millicent Shelton. The film stars Malik Yoba, Fredro Starr, and Melissa De Sousa. The film is sometimes confused with The Ride, another film released in 1998.
NYC film school graduate Leta Evans (De Sousa) has just become the assistant to hot music video director Bleau Kelly (Downtown Julie Brown). She almost loses the job before her first day's barely even started when Bleau decides budget cuts must be made for her next project. When Leta offers to do the assignment for a smaller fee, Bleau decides to have her escort a group of rappers, singers, and showbiz wanna-be's to Miami for a video shoot. The gang, which is kept in line by Poppa (Yoba), gets acquainted on a decaying bus as they travel down the East Coast, encountering barroom fights and other problems en route to the video gig.
"Ride" was the second official single from The Vines' second album, Winning Days. Although it wasn't a big chart success, "Ride" is one of the band's best known songs because it was featured in a number of advertisements, including commercials for Apple's iPod, Nissan, American Chopper, NASCAR Hot Pass, WKCF, The WB, and Split Second: Velocity. Written by Craig Nicholls.
This song was also featured on an episode of America's Funniest Home Videos in 2006 during a montage of motorcycle accidents and in the "Best Movie" montage at the 2004 MTV Movie Awards for nominee Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. "Ride" along with "Get Free" were featured in the documentary Warren Miller's Impact.
In Australia, the song was ranked #94 on Triple J's Hottest 100 of 2004.
The "Ride" music video, directed by Michel Gondry, shows the band playing by themselves in a hall. When they get to the chorus, bands appear from everywhere, helping them sing and play.
"Ride" is a song performed by American recording artist Ciara. The song features American rapper Ludacris. It was co-written by Ciara, Ludacris, Tricky Stewart, and The-Dream, and produced by the latter two. The song serves as the lead single from her fourth studio album, Basic Instinct. The song was first released for digital download on April 23, 2010. "Ride" is a down-tempo R&B song, featuring a heavy bass line and seductive tone.
The song received generally positive reviews from critics, complimenting the song's toned-down production. It reached three on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in the United States, becoming Ciara's twelfth top ten hit on the chart. The accompanying music video features sexually charged, provocative choreography, and therefore was not aired on BET, and banned from UK music channels. The official remix features André 3000 and Bei Maejor in addition to Ludacris.
Jive Records spoke exclusively to Rap Up magazine on March 29, 2010 to confirm that Ciara would be releasing a new song called "Ride" featuring Ludacris. It is the fourth time that the two artists have collaborated: the first being 2005's "Oh", second being 2009's "High Price" and the third being the 2010 remix to Ludacris' single "How Low".
SLAB! are an industrial music/alternative rock band initially active between the mid-1980s and early 1990s. They reformed in 2009.
The band's first release was the "Mars on Ice" 12-inch single in 1986 on Dave Kitson's Ink Records (an offshoot of his Red Flame label). This received airplay from John Peel who invited them to record a session for his BBC Radio 1 show the same year. They followed this with "Parallax Avenue" in 1987 which saw them in the lower reaches of the UK Independent Chart, and in May that year their debut mini-LP Music From The Iron Lung was issued, reaching number 21 on the Independent Albums chart. "Smoke Rings" gave them their highest charting single, reaching number 31 on the indie chart in July 1987, and towards the end of the year the band's first long-playing album, Descension was issued. Second full-length LP album Sanity Allergy was issued in 1988, and that year they recorded their third and final Peel session. The band split up in 1991, with a 'best of' compilation, Ship of Fools, released the same year.
In geology, a slab is the portion of a tectonic plate that is being subducted.
Slabs constitute an important part of the global plate tectonic system. They drive plate tectonics both by pulling along the lithosphere to which they are attached in a processes known as slab pull and by inciting currents in the mantle (slab suction). They cause volcanism due to flux melting of the mantle wedge, and they affect the flow and thermal evolution of the Earth's mantle. Their motion can cause dynamic uplift and subsidence of the Earth's surface, forming shallow seaways and potentially rearranging drainage patterns.
Slabs have been imaged down to the seismic discontinuities between the upper and lower mantle and to the core–mantle boundary. Slab subduction is the mechanism by which lithospheric material is mixed back into the Earth's mantle.
Slab (Christopher Anderson), a fictional character in the Marvel Comics Universe. His first appearance was in X-Factor #74.
Slab is a mutant villain who is recruited by Mister Sinister to be part of his Nasty Boys and was the first team member to attack their nemesis, the government sponsored X-Factor team. Slab climbs to the top of the Washington Monument and calls Strong Guy out to fight him, and they battle. When Slab shrinks to normal size to duck a punch, he causes Strong Guy to shatter and destroy the monument. Slab's battle is aided off-scenes by Senator Stephen Shaffran, who has the mutant power to manipulate probability, (including causing others to suffer bad luck while enjoying good luck himself).
Slab was captured along with his teammate Hairbag and taken to a holding cell by X-Factor. While he waits for his lawyer to negotiate bail, Slab and Hairbag are broken out of prison by the Mutant Liberation Front (of which Slab's sister Thumbelina is a member). He is returned to the Nasty Boys shortly afterwards. Slab has not been seen since the group's subsequent breakup. It is unknown if Slab retained his mutant powers after the M-Day.

Real street agrivators and we'll kill you in a suit and gators
Don't get it fucked up, niggas'll run you like plays
And cut you like 'Back in the days'
I got real street niggas that ride, right or wrong
They always on my side, so bring it on
