Horizons is the fifth album led by saxophonist Charles McPherson recorded in 1968 and released on the Prestige label.

Reception

Allmusic awarded the album 3 stars with its review by Scott Yanow stating, "By playing bop-oriented music in 1968, Charles McPherson could have been considered behind the times, but he was never a fad chaser and he has long had a timeless style. This music still sounds viable and creative decades later".

We're Here Because We're Here

We're Here Because We're Here is the eighth album by the British rock band Anathema. It was released on 31 May 2010. The working title of the album was Horizons. The album was mixed by Steven Wilson of Porcupine Tree.

Ville Valo of the band HIM recorded backing vocals for the song "Angels Walk Among Us". The title of the album is taken from a song of the same name that was sung in the Allied trenches of World War I to the tune of "Auld Lang Syne".

It is the last album to feature keyboarist Les Smith, as well as the first to feature vocalist Lee Douglas as an official band member.

Reception

Response from the critics was universally positive. The album was awarded "Prog Album of the Year" by Classic Rock magazine, who described it as "a flawless, life-affirming comeback and a gold-plated contender for album of the year".

HORIZONS

HORIZONS is Hong Kong's second oldest gay group after Hong Kong Ten Percent Club.

The organisation runs the Chinese Special Administrative Region's oldest counseling hotline for people affected by sexual orientation issues, which began operation months before HORIZONS was formally registered as a non-governmental organisation under Hong Kong's Societies Ordinance in February 1992. There three founding officers were Barrie Brandon, Samson Chan and Simon Chan.

HORIZONS' other missions include educating Hong Kong's public about sexual orientation issues and promoting equal opportunities for people of different sexual orientations.

HORIZONS was a driving force behind Hong Kong's first gay parade on October 15, 2004.

Orion (mythology)

In Greek mythology, Orion (Ancient Greek: Ὠρίων or Ὠαρίων, Latin: Orion) was a giant huntsman whom Zeus placed among the stars as the constellation of Orion.

Ancient sources tell several different stories about Orion; there are two major versions of his birth and several versions of his death. The most important recorded episodes are his birth somewhere in Boeotia, his visit to Chios where he met Merope and was blinded by her father, Oenopion, the recovery of his sight at Lemnos, his hunting with Artemis on Crete, his death by the bow of Artemis or the sting of the giant scorpion which became Scorpio, and his elevation to the heavens. Most ancient sources omit some of these episodes and several tell only one. These various incidents may originally have been independent, unrelated stories and it is impossible to tell whether omissions are simple brevity or represent a real disagreement.

In Greek literature he first appears as a great hunter in Homer's epic the Odyssey, where Odysseus sees his shade in the underworld. The bare bones of his story are told by the Hellenistic and Roman collectors of myths, but there is no extant literary version of his adventures comparable, for example, to that of Jason in Apollonius of Rhodes' Argonautica or Euripides' Medea; the entry in Ovid's Fasti for May 11 is a poem on the birth of Orion, but that is one version of a single story. The surviving fragments of legend have provided a fertile field for speculation about Greek prehistory and myth.

This is a list of fictional starships in the Stargate universe depicted through a series of television shows and three feature-length movies.

Ancient starships

The Ancients are one of the most technologically advanced races in Stargate, and this is reflected in their starships. Duplicates of these ships are utilized by their nanite creations, the Asurans, as they also possess knowledge of Ancient technology.

Puddle Jumper

The Puddle Jumper or Jumper is a small spacecraft used extensively in the Stargate Atlantis series. Puddle Jumpers were created by the Ancients and most exist within the city built by the Ancients known as Atlantis. The Jumpers are used by the humans from Earth that traveled to Atlantis so that they can travel to other planets as well as navigate the planets once they arrive—both in the air and underwater. Jumpers are cylinder-shaped with two retractable engines (see picture at right), one on either side, so that they can fit through the Stargate device. The interior of the Jumper is divided in two parts: cockpit and aft; the bulkhead door between the two sections is airtight and can hold even against the pressure of deep ocean. Access to the Jumper is provided by a rear ramp-hatch. Puddle Jumpers are armed with drone weapons capable of destroying larger ships. Jumpers are also equipped with a cloaking device to evade enemies which renders the ship effectively invisible to both the eye and most sensors.
