Earth technology in Stargate

In the Stargate fictional universe, the humans of Earth have developed many advanced technologies based on what SG teams have brought back from trips to other planets through the Stargate. Earth has also benefitted from technical knowledge provided by friendly alien races, such as the Asgard and the Tok'ra.

Real or semi-real technology

The producers of Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis collaborated closely with the United States Air Force. The USAF is portrayed in a positive light in the series; as a result the franchise received access to USAF weaponry and fighter jets. The Oregon Air National Guard 173rd FW from Kingsley Field in Klamath Falls, OR provided F-15 fighter jets for the movie Stargate: Continuum. The FN P90 was the favoured weapon of SG-1, and replaced the Heckler & Koch MP5 that was used until season 4 of Stargate SG-1. The P90 is also used by teams on Stargate Atlantis. In seasons 9 and 10 of SG1, the teams can be seen using other firearms, including the G36 and MP7. All personnel appear to be issued the Beretta 92, which they used throughout the series.

Petit (EP)

Petit is an EP by Japanese singer-songwriter Ua, released on October 21, 1995. Like its lead single, Petit also failed to chart on the Oricon charts. The EP was re-issued on September 22, 2005.

Tease (TV series)

Actress Lisa Rinna is the host of Oxygen Network's Tease, airing since 2007. Known to television audiences from her starring roles on Dancing with the Stars, Soap Talk, Melrose Place and Days of Our Lives, Emmy-nominated Rinna is also recognizable for her signature layered hairstyle. Each Tease episode features two up-and-coming hair stylists as they face-off in an exciting Olympics-style tournament.

The aspiring stylists put their skills to the tress test in front of a panel of expert judges: hairstylist Peter Ishkhans, model Roshumba Williams and agent Frank Moore. The aspiring stylists compete for a chance at the supreme challenge – a one-on-one battle with one of three high-profile master stylists, Clyde Haygood, Stephanie Hobgood and Kim Vo. Should the aspiring stylist surpass the expertise of a hair pro, his or her photo is hung on the Tease hair wall of fame and he or she receives the “silver scissors”, the crowning symbol of a styling victory.

Each episode includes a themed timed challenge designed to push the stylists’ skills to the limit. The challenges in the 2007 season include:

7-Tease

7-Tease is the twelfth studio album, and fourteenth album overall, from British singer-songwriter Donovan. It was released in the US (Epic PE 33245) in November 1974 and in the UK (Epic SEPC 69104) in January 1975.

History

After the low chart success of Essence to Essence, Donovan entered the studio again in late 1974 with a different producer and a new set of songs. The songs were originally intended for use as part of a stage performance piece, and ranged from up-tempo songs to the balladry that Donovan had become known for.

Some of the songs on 7-Tease feature lyrical lines or melodies from earlier Donovan songs. "The Voice of Protest" features a line about a ship going "all on her starry way", in a direct lift from a line in "The Voyage of the Moon" on H.M.S. Donovan. The melody on "How Silly" is nearly identical to "A Funny Man" from H.M.S. Donovan. Since H.M.S. Donovan sold poorly, it is possible that the similarities were not noticed by many fans.

While 7-Tease achieved significantly more chart success than its predecessor in the United States, it still marked a decline in Donovan's popularity.
