Lal

Lal (Persian: لعل‎‎, Hindi: लाल, Urdu: لال‎, Pashto: Lāl‎) is an Indo-Iranian surname and given name, which means "darling", from the Sanskrit lala ("cajoling"). In addition, Lal means "garnet" or "ruby" in Persian, "ruby" in Pashto, and "red" in Hindustani. The name Lal may refer to:

M. P. Michael (2 December 1958), better known by his stage name Lal, is an Indian film director, actor, script writer, producer, and film distributor widely known for his work in Malayalam cinema.

Career

Early career

He started his career as a mimicry artist in Kalabhavan, along with his childhood friend Siddique, who would later team up as Siddique-Lal to make many films. Lal and Siddique joined as assistant directors to Fazil in 1984.

Actor

After that, both decided to part ways as a director pair and Lal turned producer with the Siddique-directed Mammootty-starrer Hitler. Lal debuted in acting with a villain role as Paniyan in Suresh Gopi-starrerKaliyattam, directed by Jayaraj. Kaliyattam was a new take on Othello where Lal played Paniyan, the character standing for Iago.

"Hopeful" is an anti-bullying song and the debut single by British pop duo Bars and Melody. It is based on the lyrics and music of Twista's 2005 song "Hope", featuring Faith Evans. The song was released on 27 July 2014 through Syco Music. It debuted at #5 on the UK Singles Chart, with sales of 40,191.

Background

Bars and Melody first performed the song when they auditioned for the eighth series of Britain's Got Talent in February 2014. They received judge Simon Cowell's golden buzzer and went straight through to the live shows. On 7 June, the duo finished in third place during the live final.

On 15 June, it was announced that Bars and Melody had signed to Cowell's record label Syco Music. It was later revealed that they would release their version of "Hope" (retitled "Hopeful") as their debut single on 27 July.

To promote the song, they appeared on television shows such as This Morning and Good Morning Britain as well as The Official Chart on BBC Radio 1.

Hopeful (Ami Suzuki song)

"Hopeful" is a song by Japanese recording artist Ami Suzuki, taken from her fourth studio album (and first in Avex) Around the World. The up-tempo, dance-pop song was written by Ami Suzuki (lyrics) and Shunsuke Yazaki (music).

Background

The original version of the song, arranged by its composer Shunsuke Yazaki, was first introduced in commercial spots announcing Ami's comeback to music in the Avex Trax label. It was set to be digitally released on February 9, 2005 (Suzuki's birthday), through Japanese music download sites such as Mu-Mo and Mora. Later, the song was remixed by Japanese DJ and trance producer Overhead Champion, and this one became the lead version, being used in the music video for "Hopeful". This version was included in Suzuki's Avex first single "Delightful", and also in the Around the World album. Thus, the original version of "Hopeful" was never released physically, though it was included in some promotional CD singles with the cover showing Ami holding the Avex logo in her hands prior to the release of "Delightful".
