Holy Rock School

Holy Rock School is an English medium school in Nawabhat, situated on the outskirts of Bardhaman, West Bengal, India. It was established in 1982. It has been affiliated to CISCE since 1994.

It has a computer lab, a library and a 45-seater reading room. Ten buses cater for transport needs.

Coordinates: 23°16′18″N 87°49′50″E / 23.2718°N 87.8306°E / 23.2718; 87.8306 In every second and fourth Saturdays of the month activities are held like scouts, martial arts, science club, and many more. It got its affiliation in 2014, and starting the courses from 2014 itself.

Mount Gerizim

Mount Gerizim (/ˈɡɛrᵻˌzɪm/; Samaritan Hebrew Aahr-gaarízem (always written as one word), Arabic جبل جرزيم Jabal Jarizīm or Jabal et Tur, Tiberian Hebrew הַר גְּרִזִּים Har Gərizzîm, Standard Hebrew הַר גְּרִיזִּים Har Gərizzim) is one of the two mountains in the immediate vicinity of the West Bank city of Nablus (biblical Shechem), and forms the southern side of the valley in which Nablus is situated, the northern side being formed by Mount Ebal. The mountain is one of the highest peaks in the West Bank and rises to 2849 feet (881 m) above sea level, 228 feet (69.5 m) shorter than Mount Ebal. In Samaritan tradition, Mount Gerizim is held to be the highest, oldest and most central mountain in the world. The mountain is particularly steep on the northern side, is sparsely covered at the top with shrubbery, and lower down there is a spring with a high yield of fresh water.

A Samaritan village (Kiryat Luza) and an Israeli settlement (Har Bracha) are situated on the mountain ridge.

Rock School

Rock School (also known as Gene Simmons' Rock School) was a British reality TV series starring Gene Simmons (from the rock band Kiss), in which he had a short time to turn a class of school children into a fully fledged rock band, at the end of which they must perform in a supporting slot for a leading rock band.

Rock School was made by British production company RDF Media and has been shown on Channel 4 in the UK, RTL 7 in the Netherlands, Channel Ten and Channel V in Australia, TVNZ's TV2 in New Zealand, VH-1 in the United States and Latin America, TV2 Zebra in Norway, Nelonen in Finland, TV4 in Sweden, Much Music in Canada, Vitaya in Belgium and ORF1 in Austria.

A comedy film with a similar theme, starring Jack Black, called School of Rock, was released in 2003, before the first series began although the creative team and Gene Simmons insist that it was not because of the success of that film they made it, and say it was in the works since 2002.

Since series 2, Simmons seems not to be planning any more series yet due to commitments with KISS.

Rock School is a 2005 documentary film about The Paul Green School of Rock Music.

History

Philadelphia based filmmaker Don Argott noticed colorful posters advertising concerts by the The Paul Green School of Rock Music around the Philadelphia area, and contacted Green. He and his producing partner Sheena M. Joyce attended a concert featuring the music of Frank Zappa. Shortly after the concert began, Argott heard C.J. Tywoniak playing a guitar part that he "didn't think could be played" and decided he had to make a documentary.

They began shooting their documentary in January 2003, using money that DreamWorks had paid Argott for his musical contributions to the Will Ferrell comedy Old School. In the "fourth or fifth month" of the nine month shooting schedule, Argott and Joyce first heard of the Paramount film with Jack Black, a narrative film featuring a lead character who bore a strong resemblance to Green. One third of the $600,000 budget for the film was spent on music rights.
