"Hold On to Me" is a song written by Blair Daly and Will Rambeaux, and recorded by American country music artist John Michael Montgomery. It was released in September 1998 as the third and final single from his album Leave a Mark. It peaked at number 4 in both the United States and Canada.

Content

The song is a ballad that paints vivid images of couplehood in a blissful state.

Critical reception

Deborah Evans Price, of Billboard magazine reviewed the song favorably saying that "there's a simple honesty in the lyric of this song." She goes on to say that the production is skilled and the emphasis is on Montgomery's "self-assured vocal performance."

"Hold On to Me" debuted at number 60 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks for the week of October 10, 1998. It peaked at #33 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Montgomery's first and only top 40 hit. It is his most successful single to date.

Hold On to Me (Courtney Love song)

"Hold on to Me" is the second single by Courtney Love, and final from her debut album America's Sweetheart. The single was quickly released after the first single, "Mono", failed to make an impression on the charts.

Background and production

"Hold on to Me" was one of the earliest songs written for America's Sweetheart, known to be written and performed as early as 2001. The song was one of the few that were featured on the original version of America's Sweetheart, prior to its rerecording. The final version of the song - as featured on the album and single release - was recorded at Studio Miraval, a chateau in the south of France, in 2003.

The single never saw a proper release due to events in Love's personal life that prevented her from promoting the single and making a video for it. Love's former Hole bandmate, Samantha Maloney, played drums on the track, and the song was on the list of the album's tracks that weren't registered for copyright collect, according to BMI and ASCAP's websites, however, this was resolved in 2006.

Hold On (Colbie Caillat song)

"Hold On" is a song written and recorded by American singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat. It was co-written and produced by Ryan Tedder, who had previously collaborated with Caillat on her 2011 single "Brighter Than the Sun". The song was released to digital retailers through Republic Records on November 19, 2013 as the original lead single from Gypsy Heart but was later scrapped from the domestic release of the album for uncertain reasons. It is, however, included on select international versions of the album. Upon its release, "Hold On" was generally well received by critics, who complimented the new musical direction.

Background

Caillat worked with "Brighter Than the Sun" collaborator Ryan Tedder on the song, and made a conscious effort to explore new musical territory. "[The song] lets people know that there aren't any boundaries," Caillat said of "Hold On". "It's always good to grow as an artist." In an interview with Billboard, Tedder called the song "a game changer" for Caillat, noting "it's gonna shock people." Tedder suggested the song "might be one of the biggest records [he's] done in years," while Republic Records co-founder Monte Lipman enthused to Billboard that "Hold On" was possibly "the best record of [Caillat's] career and something [they're] excited about."

Hold On is the third single from the Jamaican recording artist Sean Paul's fifth studio album Tomahawk Technique. It was written by Pierre "The Maven" Medor, Rico Love and Sean Paul Henriques and was produced by Pierre "The Maven" Medor, Rico Love. The song has charted in France.

Hold On is widely associated with Usain Bolt in his endeavour to victory in the London 2012 Olympic Games in the 100m and 200m races.

"To Me" is a song written by Mike Reid and Mack David, and recorded by American country music artists Lee Greenwood and Barbara Mandrell as a duet. It was released in July 1984 as the first single from the album Meant for Each Other. The song reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart.
