Hold (baseball)

A hold (abbreviated HLD, H or HD) is awarded to a relief pitcher who meets the following three conditions:

The hold is not an official Major League Baseball statistic.

Description

Unlike saves, wins, and losses, more than one pitcher per team can earn a hold for a game, though it is not possible for a pitcher to receive more than one hold in a given game. A pitcher can receive a hold by protecting a lead even if that lead is lost by a later pitcher after his exit.

The hold was invented in 1986 by John Dewan and Mike O'Donnell to give a statistical measure of the effectiveness of the vast majority of relief pitchers who are afforded few opportunities to close a game. While middle relievers earn their share, holds are most often credited to setup pitchers.

In 1994, PA SportsTicker created an alternate definition for a hold, removing the requirement that a pitcher needs to make an out in order to record a hold. In 2009, STATS LLC purchased PA SportsTicker, and the alternate definition is no longer in use.

I'm Sorry I'm Leaving

I'm Sorry I'm Leaving is an acoustic EP released by American rock band Saves the Day, released by Immigrant Sun on July 1, 1999.

It differed from the album by having a lighter acoustic sound. The EP was recorded in one week in 1998.

Background and recording

Saves the Day formed in late 1997, their debut album, Can't Slow Down, was released with Equal Vision in August 1998. The album helped the band gain fans, but only in the New Jersey area. The band promoted the album with two tours, which helped the band expand their fan base. Saves the Day had three different line-up changes while touring Can't Slow Down, leaving vocalist Chris Conley and Newman as the only original members left.

I'm Sorry I'm Leaving was recorded and mixed at Shoulder to the Wheel Studio in March 1999. The EP was mastered by M.J.R. at Metropolis Mastering Ltd.

Release

I'm Sorry I'm Leaving was released on Immigrant Sun Records on July 1, 1999. It includes a cover of Modern English's "I Melt with You".

5150 (involuntary psychiatric hold)

Section 5150 is a section of the California Welfare and Institutions Code (WIC) (in particular, the Lanterman–Petris–Short Act or "LPS") which authorizes a qualified officer or clinician to involuntarily confine a person suspected to have a mental disorder that makes him or her a danger to him- or herself, a danger to others, and/or gravely disabled. A qualified officer, which includes any California peace officer, as well as any specifically designated county clinician, can request the confinement after signing a written declaration. When used as a term, 5150 (pronounced "fifty-one-fifty") can informally refer to the person being confined or to the declaration itself, or (colloquially) as a verb, as in "I have a possible 5150 here" or "(Someone) was 5150ed".

Off!

Off! is an American hardcore punk supergroup, formed in Los Angeles in 2009.

History

Off! was formed in Los Angeles, California in late 2009 by Circle Jerks/Black Flag singer Keith Morris, Burning Brides frontman Dimitri Coats, Redd Kross bassist Steven Shane McDonald, and Rocket From The Crypt/Hot Snakes drummer Mario Rubalcaba. The idea to form the band came after Coats had worked as producer on a Circle Jerks album which fell apart. During that time, Coats and Morris had written several songs together which they used to start Off!. The group made its live debut at the 2010 South By Southwest Music Festival in Austin, Texas. Off!'s first Los Angeles show featured an original art installation by Raymond Pettibon at a downtown warehouse space.

The first release by Off! is a 7" vinyl EP called 1st EP, which debuted on October 13, 2010. That EP, along with three more EPs, were later released as a four 7" vinyl box set entitled First Four EPs on December 14, 2010. The collection contains sixteen songs and features artwork by Raymond Pettibon.

Åram

Åram is a village in Vanylven Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located on the mainland, about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) straight north of the municipal centre of Fiskåbygd. The village has a ferry quay with regular connections to the nearby islands of Kvamsøya, Voksa, and Gurskøya. Åram Church is located in the village.

Åram and all of the mainland for about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) in all directions was formerly a part of Sande Municipality until 1 January 2002 when it was administratively transferred to Vanylven.

The local football club is Åram/Vankam FK.

Goat (zodiac)

The Goat (Chinese: 羊; pinyin: yáng) is the eighth sign of the 12-year cycle of animals that appear in the Chinese zodiac related to the Chinese calendar. The sign is also referred to as the Ram or Sheep sign, since the Chinese word yáng is more accurately translated as Caprinae, a taxonomic subfamily which includes both sheep and goats.

The Year of the Goat (alternatively, Year of the Ram or Year of the Sheep) is associated with the 8th Earthly Branch symbol, 未 (wèi).

Goat or Sheep

The Chinese word yáng refers both to goats and sheep, with shānyáng specifically goats and miányáng sheep. In English, the sign (originally based on a horned animal) may be called either. The interpretation of sheep or goat depends on culture. In Vietnamese, the sign is mùi, which is unambiguously goat. In Japan, on the other hand, the sign is hitsuji, sheep; while in Korea and Mongolia the sign is also sheep or ram. Within China, there may be a regional distinction with the zodiacal yáng more likely to be thought of as a goat in the south, while tending to be thought of as a sheep in the north.

Ram Pothineni

Ram Pothineni (Rām Pōthinēni; born on 15 May 1988) is an Indian film actor of the Telugu film industry. He hails from Hyderabad, Telangana.

Personal life

Ram (Full name: Ram Pothineni) is the son of Murali Mohan Pothineni, the nephew of noted film producer Ravi Kishore Pothineni, popularly known as Sravanthi Ravi Kishore. He was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He did his schooling at Chettinad. Dr.Ramesh babu of Ramesh hospitals in Vijayawada and Guntur is his uncle.

Career

Ram made his debut in 2006 with Devadasu and the film went on to become a blockbuster, running for 500 days in over a dozen centers. His second film, Jagadam was directed by Sukumar. Though it did not do well at the box office, it received critical acclaim. He then appeared in Ready alongside Genelia D'Souza directed by Srinu Vaitla with the film becoming a huge success, prompting remakes into other Indian languages and catapulting him to the big league. In 2009, he had two releases, Maska and Ganesh Just Ganesh, the latter was not successful at the box office. Maska had one of the biggest openings at the time, collecting over ₹2.5 crores on the opening day and recovering its investment within the first week. In 2010, Ram had only one release, Rama Rama Krishna Krishna, produced by Dil Raju and directed by Srivaas. Ram's next film Kandireega was a big blockbuster of 2011 and Ram proved to be the man of the masses along with his lover boy image. His next latest release was Endhukante Premanta with Tamannaah, directed by Karunakaran and produced by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore. The movie was shot in the beautiful lavish locales with a huge budget but it turned out to be an average grosser.
