The Hockey News
The Hockey News, commonly abbreviated to THN, is a Canadian ice hockey magazine published by TVA Group. The Hockey News was founded in 1947 by Ken McKenzie and Will Côté, and has since been the most recognized hockey publication in North America. The magazine has a readership of 225,000 people per issue, while the magazine's website counts two million total readers.
Publications
The Hockey News (ISSN 0018-3016) publishes 18 subscriber issues per year, including four specialty magazines – Future Watch (March), Draft Preview (May), Yearbook (August) and the Collector’s Edition (October). It also publishes an annually Poolbook, which is newsstand-only. It is the top-selling hockey magazine in North America and is available through subscription in North America and digitally to the rest of the world. THN is also available at many newsstands in North America. The magazine principally covers the National Hockey League (NHL), relying on local beat writers to cover each team. Smaller sections in the regular issues cover minor league, junior, college, and international hockey.
