Hitman (Marvel Comics)

Hitman is the name of multiple fictional characters that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics.

Publication history

Burt Kenyon first appeared in The Spectacular Spider-Man #4 (March 1977), and was created by Archie Goodwin and Sal Buscema. The character subsequently appears in The Amazing Spider-Man #174-175 (November–December 1977), in which he is killed. The character appears posthumously in the Punisher: Return to Big Nothing graphic novel (1989).

Jimmy Pierce first appeared in Punisher Vol. 2 #86 to serve as the Cullen Crime Family's Punisher. He was created by Steve Grant and Hugh Haynes.

Fictional character biography

Burt Kenyon

Burt Kenyon was a Vietnam veteran serving in the same company as Frank Castle, who would later become the Punisher. Kenyon saved Castle's life by killing several enemy soldiers and dragging Castle to safety after he was wounded in an ambush. Castle wanted to know how he could repay Kenyon, to which Kenyon replied that Castle should remember that he owed him a life.

Marvel Worldwide Inc., commonly referred to as Marvel Comics and formerly Marvel Publishing, Inc. and Marvel Comics Group, is an American publisher of comic books and related media. In 2009, The Walt Disney Company acquired Marvel Entertainment, Marvel Worldwide's parent company.

Marvel started in 1939 as Timely Publications, and by the early 1950s had generally become known as Atlas Comics. Marvel's modern incarnation dates from 1961, the year that the company launched The Fantastic Four and other superhero titles created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and many others.

Hitman (2016 video game)

Hitman is an action-adventure stealth video game that is currently under development by IO Interactive and will be published by Square Enix for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on 11 March 2016 in an episodic release format. It will be the sixth entry in the Hitman video game series. The beta will serve as a prequel to the series, however the main game will take place after the events of Absolution.

Gameplay

Hitman is a third-person stealth video game in which players take control of Agent 47, an extremely well-trained assassin, travelling to international locations and eliminating contracted targets. As in other games in the series, players are given a large amount of room for creativity in approaching their assassinations. For instance, players may utilise long-ranged rifles to snipe a target from a long distance, or they may decide to assassinate the target at close range by using blade weapons or garrote wire. Players can also use explosives, or disguise the assassination by creating a seemingly accidental death. A common method to approach a mission is to incapacitate other characters and wear their outfits as a disguise, which allows the player to gain access to restricted areas more easily. Actions of the non-playable characters also influence the game. For instance, players can gain more information about the position of their target through listening to a nearby news report.

Hitman (UK game show)

Hitman is a quiz programme that was produced by Television South and aired on the ITV network for 1 series in 1989, the programme was hosted by Nick Owen. The series had 15 episodes and ran between 21 February to 30 May on Tuesdays. The program was based on the US version, which aired on NBC in 1983 and was hosted by Peter Tomarken.

Gameplay

In the first round, three players watched a film clip and then answered a series of questions about it. Each correct answer earned a "hitman" for the player who gave it. The first two players to earn five hitmen advanced to the next round; the third was eliminated and given a consolation prize consisting of champagne and caviar.

For the second round, each of the remaining two players was given an army of hitmen to defend. The first player who qualified for the round received nine hitmen, while the second player received eight. They watched a new film clip and answered questions about it, with each correct answer eliminating one of the opponent's hitmen. The first player to wipe out all of his/her opponent's hitmen won the game and advanced to the final round for a chance to win up to £3,000.

Adventure Time is an American animated television series created by Pendleton Ward for Cartoon Network. The series follows the adventures of Finn (voiced by Jeremy Shada), a human boy, and his best friend and adoptive brother Jake (voiced by John DiMaggio), a dog with magical powers to change shape and grow and shrink at will. Finn and Jake live in the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo. Along the way, they interact with the show's other main characters: Princess Bubblegum (voiced by Hynden Walch), the sovereign of the Candy Kingdom; the Ice King (voiced by Tom Kenny), a demented but largely misunderstood ice wizard; and Marceline the Vampire Queen (voiced by Olivia Olson), a thousand-year-old vampire and rock music enthusiast.

The pilot first aired in 2007, and it was later re-aired on the incubator series Random! Cartoons on Nicktoons Network. The pilot eventually leaked onto the internet and became a cult hit on YouTube. After Nickelodeon declined to turn the short into a full-fledged show, Cartoon Network purchased the rights, and Adventure Time launched as a series on April 5, 2010. Season seven, which also contains a special mini-series, began airing on November 2, 2015. The show has also been renewed for an eighth season, and a feature-length film—which is being developed by Chris McKay and Roy Lee—is also in the works. Each Adventure Time episode is about eleven minutes in length; pairs of episodes are often telecast in order to fill a half hour program time slot. The first four seasons each contain 26 episodes, the fifth contains 52 episodes, and the sixth contains 43 episodes. For the first five and a half seasons, the show aired on Monday nights. However, starting with the sixth season episode "Breezy", the show began to shift both its timeslot and its day of airing.
