High valley

A high valley (German: Hochtal) is a valley in the upper third of a mountain range. More loosely it can refer to any mountain valley.

Examples of high valleys are the Kathmandu Valley in the Himalayas at a height of 1,350 m, the Engadine and St. Moritz in the Swiss Alps at 1,856 metres and the Tannheimer Tal in Austria at 1,100 metres above sea level.

    High Valley

    High Valley is a Canadian country music duo from Blumenort, Alberta, a small community near the hamlet of La Crete. The band is composed of brothers Brad and Curtis Rempel. Bryan Rempel was a member until March 2014. All three graduated from La Crete Public School. All three grew up in a family oriented Mennonite community.

    In October 2015, High Valley signed to Atlantic Records Nashville.

    Biography

    High Valley's album Broken Borders was named Album of the Year at the 2007 GMA Canada Covenant Awards, while the song "Back to You" was awarded Country Song of the Year. High Valley's second album, High Valley, was released in Canada and the United States on September 14, 2010. In 2011 the band won five GMA Canada Covenant Awards, including Artist of the Year and Group of the Year. Their third album, Love Is a Long Road, was released on June 12, 2012.

    High Valley (album)

    High Valley is the second studio album by Canadian country music group High Valley. It was released on September 14, 2010 by Open Road Recordings in Canada and by Centricity Music in the United States. Included are the singles "I Will Stand by You," "On the Combine," "A Father's Love (The Only Way He Knew How)" and "Call Me Old Fashioned." "A Father's Love (The Only Way He Knew How)" was originally recorded by Bucky Covington on his 2010 EP, I'm Alright, and released as a single in March 2010. The Judds released a cover of "I Will Stand by You" in October 2010.

    High Valley was nominated for Country Album of the Year at the 2012 Juno Awards.
