Gaudencio Sillona III (born February 1, 1981), who performs under the mononym Jay R, is a Filipino singer-songwriter, actor, record producer and model. In 2003, he released his debut album, Gameface, under Universal Records. The album containted the number one single, "Bakit Pa Ba", received numerous awards, and was certified Platinum by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry. He made his big screen debut in the 2004 feature film Happy Together, and later, released his self-titled second album in 2005. Jay R was dubbed as "R&B Prince" in his early career and was often partnered with the Kyla (then known as the "R&B Princess"). Collectively known to their fans as "JayLa," they are known in the music industry as the R&B Royalties (R&B King and Queen, respectively) .
In 2006, he built a recording studio inside his mansion, followed by a recording label called JAYRS Music. He later renamed it as Homeworkz Records. In the same year, he released a Christmas album, Christmas Away from Home, and dedicated it to his late uncle Reny. The album was re-released in 2008, where he donated the proceeds from the sales to GMA Kapuso Foundation. Also in 2008, he released a cover album, Soul in Love, which became his highest-rated and biggest-selling album.
Jay R is the self-titled second studio album by Filipino singer Jay R, released in December 2005 in the Philippines by Universal Records. To date, the album has sold more than 20,000 units in the country and has been certified gold by the Philippine Association of the Record Industry.
After the success of Gameface, he focused on doing a more complex R&B sound. He covered the Billy Joel original "Just the Way You Are", making a whole different arrangement, complete with street-beat rap and his distinct R&B flavor. In addition, Sillona recorded an alternate version of the song, featuring Irish pop singer, Samantha Mumba. Among other collaborators are rappers Young Clipp, Jdimes, and Sillona's bestfriends, Jimmy Muna and Kris Lawrence, who lent his vocals as back-up on the DJ MOD ballad, "Paalam".
Legendary Filipino composer Vehnee Saturno, who is responsible for Sillona's first number one hit "Bakit Pa Ba", wrote two Tagalog songs—namely "Di Ko Sadya", co-produced by South Border frontman Jay Durias, and "Ngayo'y Narito", which was released as the album's second official single.
Jackviper (often written as "JackViper") is a hard rock band formed in London, UK in 2005 and active until 2009. Jackviper has supported Vixen and both incarnations of L.A. Guns on national UK tours.
Jackviper is the first unsigned band in history to have a full song pre-loaded onto 500,000 Creative Zen V MP3 players, in addition to making an endorsement deal with Marshall Amplification. Jackviper has been featured twice in international metal magazine Metal Hammer, which describes the band as having "The speed of Motörhead and the intensity of Guns N' Roses".
The band's influences include Mötley Crüe, Guns N' Roses, Nine Inch Nails, Love/Hate, Motörhead, and Beautiful Creatures.
Kiss, Ferlanger, and Shredder met while studying at music college in London, and Eddie Shredder studied guitar at the Berklee College of music in Boston where Steve Vai also studied.
Jackviper recorded their first EP, 'Sleazy Listening' within months of forming. Shortly after they were asked to provide the soundtrack to the Axl Rose DVD: "The Prettiest Star". Their second EP, 'Another Dirty Threesome' was well received, with the song MerryGoRound named 9th best of 2005 on Sleazeroxx.
Hey Ma is the tenth studio album by the British alternative rock band James. It was released on 7 April 2008. Receiving positive reviews from critics, the album peaked at #10 in the UK Albums Chart and charted for 5 weeks.
After a successful reunion tour, as well as playing a variety of festivals over summer 2007, James teamed up with the producer and musician Lee 'Muddy' Baker to start work on a new studio album. (Baker was previously most notable for his work with James' singer Tim Booth on Booth's 2004 solo album, Bone.)
The band, with the help of Baker, built their own studios at the Château de Warsy in France, a studio that consisted of a main studio as well as personal studios for each member of the band in their rooms. This allowed each member to constantly feed ideas back to Baker in the main studio. Baker also allowed the band to jam at leisure, a technique that has been credited with creating some of the band's most successful songs including "Sit Down" and "Sound". It also ensured a sense of spontaneity that has often been a major selling point for the band.
"Hey Ma" was the second single released from American rapper Cam'ron's third album Come Home with Me. The song featured Juelz Santana, Freekey Zekey and Toya, and was produced by the Tuneheadz, who used a sample of The Commodores' 1977 hit, "Easy".
Released as the follow-up to Cam'ron's successful single "Oh Boy", "Hey Ma" followed that song's success, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, his highest peak on that chart, while also reaching the top 10 on several other Billboard charts.
The remix also features Juelz Santana and Toya. This remix, produced by DR Period and Mafia Boy, can be found on The Diplomats' first album, Diplomatic Immunity.
The song was featured in the 2012 film End of Watch. The song can also be heard in "Lord of the Bling", an episode of the television series Veronica Mars.
Uh ohhh,
Yeah...
Oh-huh...
Gayong wagas yaring pag-ibig mo.
Iniwan pa kita (iniwan pa kita)
Muling nag iisa, bakit pa nagawa ito sayo
ohhhh
