Hey Gorgeous (season 3)

The third season of Hey Gorgeous (Chinese: 校园美魔王; pinyin: Xiàoyuán Měi Mówáng), a Singaporean talent-scouting competition which searches for new talents in tertiary institutes, premiered on 24 August 2015 on MediaCorp Channel 8, and broadcast on Mondays from 8pm to 9pm. This season marks the first time the contest is aired on MediaCorp Channel 8, instead of MediaCorp Channel U in which the first two seasons were aired. In this season, the number of semifinalists has been downsized from 24 to 21, while the number of finalists has been downsized from 12 to eight. A total of seven tertiary institutions participate in this contest, namely Singapore Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, National University of Singapore, Republic Polytechnic and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Elvin Ng and Carrie Wong serve as the celebrity ambassadors for this season. Gan Zhi Jian from Singapore Polytechnic was crowned winner of this season.

Gorgeous (Kanye West song)

"Gorgeous" is a song by American hip hop recording artist Kanye West from his fifth studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (2010). The track features a hook provided by Kid Cudi, a recording artist formerly signed to West's label GOOD Music, and a rap verse provided by the Wu-Tang Clan member Raekwon. The song was written by West, Cudi, Raekwon, No I.D., Mike Dean and Rhymefest, and was produced by West, No I.D. and Dean. It contains elements of The Turtles's cover version of the song "You Showed Me". "Gorgeous" received mostly positive reviews from music critics, who generally praised the intricacy of the production, the quality of the guest features and the rock music inspired aesthetic of the song. Several critics cited West's verses as a highlight of the track, complimenting his lyricism and delivery.

Before its release, West premiered an a cappella version of the song in the form of a freestyle rap on Funkmaster Flex's Hot 97 radio show. Despite not being released as a single, the song appeared on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart. Cudi and West performed the song live at SXSW, and West performed the track at the Lollapalooza musical festival. "Gorgeous" was also utilized in West's short film Runaway.

The Apple Tree

The Apple Tree is a series of three musical playlets with music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, and a book by Bock and Harnick with contributions from Jerome Coopersmith. Each act has its own storyline, but all three are tied together by a common theme (someone who believes that they want something, but once they get what they wanted they realize that it wasn't what they wanted) and common references, such as references to the color brown. The first act is based on Mark Twain's The Diary of Adam and Eve; the second act is based on Frank R. Stockton'sThe Lady or the Tiger?; the third act is based on Jules Feiffer's Passionella. The working title for the evening of three musicals was Come Back! Go Away! I Love You!

Production history

The musical opened on Broadway on October 18, 1966 at the Shubert Theatre and ran for 463 performances, closing on November 25, 1967. It was produced by Stuart Ostrow, directed by Mike Nichols and starred Barbara Harris, Alan Alda, and Larry Blyden. Harris won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical. The Apple Tree also received several other major Tony nominations: Bock and Harnick for Best Composer and Lyricist, Nichols for Best Direction of a Musical, Lee Theodore for Best Choreography, and the show itself for Best Musical.

Hey! is an album by Julio Iglesias. It was released in 1980 by Columbia Records. The album hit number one worldwide, and sales of the Spanish version purportedly surpassed 20 million. In 1981, Iglesias was nominated for a Grammy Award for the album under the Latin Pop Album category.

Hey! is the debut studio album by Brazilian recording artist Jullie. It was released on September 22, 2009 by Deckdisc. After writing songs for several established acts, Jullie released this album. The main theme of the songs is girl power. The songs are mostly inspired by Jullie's love of youth, rebellion, and discover who you are in 4.modern lifestyle. Musically, the album drew inspiration from pop and pop rock influenced by singers like Lily Allen, Madonna, Alanis Morissette, and its main reference, Katy Perry, directed to a feminist position. The album was praised by the young, calling Jullie as "Brazilian Katy Perry" for his music style and way of dressing. The first single "Alice" was released in April and the second single "Hey!" was released in November, 2009.
