!Hero (album)

!Hero is an album featuring the songs from the rock opera, !Hero. It is based on the question, "What if Jesus was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania?" The rock opera modernizes Jesus' last two years on earth and features a cast of many well-known Christian artists with Michael Tait, Rebecca St. James, and Mark Stuart as the three main characters: Hero (Jesus), Maggie (Mary Magdalene), and Petrov (Peter).

Hero (1984 film)

Hero is a Tollywood film that was directed by Vijaya Bapineedu and produced by Allu Aravind. This film starred Chiranjeevi, Radhika, and Rao Gopal Rao in important roles. This film released on 23 April 1984.

Plot

Chiranjeevi plays an archeologist Krishna, who comes to a village in seasaves Kanakaraju. They become his friend and also treat him as their philosopher and guide. Meanwhile Radhika, a village belle, falls for him and forces him to marry her. When Krishna refuses, she successfully enerts the role of a rape victim in front of the villagers. Krishna later learns that Kanakraju was in fact Kondababu, who killed Vikram, who was searching a plan for the hidden treasure. How Krishna plans and exposes Kanakaraju's reality forms thhe rest of the story.

Hero (magazine)

HERO Magazine was an American glossy bimonthly gay magazine co-founded in 1997 by Sam Jensen Page and Paul Horne. The magazine stopped publication in January 2002. It was based in Los Angeles.

Overview

The magazine rode the wave of the "mainstreaming" of gay culture and was the first gay magazine to be classified as "highly recommended" by Library Journal. It published the first automotive column in a national gay magazine, the first gay man's wedding guide, etc. HERO turned away from the "sex sells" attitude of many other gay publications, and did not accept adult or tobacco advertising. The magazine was also more inclusive of couples and men over 40 than other gay men's magazines at the time.

After fast growth in its first 3 years, the magazine's financial backing was frozen after September 11, 2001, and the publication ceased operations in January 2002. Parent company HERO Media continues to develop other online and print publications, including SpaTravelGuy.com.

XXL (Mylène Farmer song)

"XXL" is a 1995 song recorded by French singer-songwriter Mylène Farmer. The song was the lead single from her fourth studio album Anamorphosée and was released on 19 September 1995. It marked an important change in the singer's career, with more rock sonorities, easier lyrics to understand and a music video directed by a new producer. Although it entered directly to number-one on the French Singles Chart, it dropped quickly and achieved mixed success.

Background and writing

After the failure of the film Giorgino in 1993 in which she played, Farmer decided to live in Los Angeles in order to fall back into anonymity. In 1995, she found the inspiration to write new songs by reading various books, including La Mort intime by French author Marie de Hennezel, and Le livre tibétain de la vie et de la mort. She then asked to Laurent Boutonnat to join her in California to produce together a new album, Anamorphosée. However, following the failure of the 1993 film Giorgino, they decided to propose a Farmer's new public image and a new sound with rock and grunge sonorities. So, when the French channel M6 announced the name and the content of the first single, "XXL", that was a big surprise, since the album was not released yet then. Many fans did not expect a such musical change; some of them decided to abandon the new universe proposed by the duo Farmer / Boutonnat, and a new public was won over.

XXL (club)

XXL is a gay nightclub in London which primarily caters to the bear sub-group. The club was founded by Mark Ames and his then partner David Dindol in 2000. They split as a couple in 2005, and soon after Mark purchased his ex partner's share of the club. It is the largest dedicated "bear" venue in the United Kingdom and the world. It is not just the bear scene's longest-running weekly disco but London's too, having not missed a night in over 14 years.

Venue

XXL is based in Southwark, on Southwark Street. The present host venue is known as Pulse while the previous venue (on the same street) was known as Arcadia. Both consist of a number of railway arches.

After the previous venue became unsafe due to a structural fault in the railway arches, XXL moved to a new venue, Pulse, in March 2012, one of the capital's largest entertainment venues that was developed and converted by Ames and his team

History

The XXL website details the history of the club through the eleven years it has been in operation. Mark Ames felt disillusioned with how little there was for the London Bear Community outside of one bar in Soho.

XXL (magazine)

XXL is an American hip hop magazine, published by Townsquare Media, founded in 1997. The magazine's past editors include Reginald C. Dennis (formerly of The Source), Sheena Lester (former editor-in-chief of RapPages and Vibe music editor), Elliott Wilson (formerly of ego trip and The Source, currently locked in at #7 slot on The Source's Digital 30 list.) and Datwon Thomas (former Editor-In-Chief of King). In May 2009 Datwon Thomas resigned from XXL and executive editor Vanessa Satten, who had been with XXL since 1998, was named the new Editor-in-Chief.

History

In August 1997,Harris Publications released the first issue of XXL. It featured rappers Jay-Z and Master P on a double cover. In December 2006, XXL took over the struggling hip hop producer and DJ magazine Scratch (another publication owned by Harris Publications), re-branding it as XXL Presents Scratch Magazine. However Scratch shut down less than a year later in September 2007. Other titles with limited runs have been launched under the XXL brand, including Hip-Hop Soul, Eye Candy and Shade45. XXL has released many other special projects including tour programs, mixtapes and exclusive DVDs. XXL also maintains a popular website, which provides daily hip hop news, original content and content from the magazine.
