Here I Stand is a 1999 album by British folk-rock band Oysterband. It is their 17th studio album.

Released on 3 August 1999, the album's much praised lyrics deal with topics such as globalisation, political and philosophical insights. The album has been described as the one of the band's most upbeat albums. The album guest features Canadian folk rock band Great Big Sea and British punk pop band Chumbawamba.

History

Here I Stand, co-produced with Alaric Neville, released during the last summer of the 20th Century, created another landmark with the formation of their own label Running Man. Sales proved the Oysters' following were not fazed by the album's "provocative (read "risky") mix of austerity, improvisation, tradition and outright pop; which proved surprisingly radio-friendly and promises well for the label's future."

Reception

The reception for the album was very positive. FAME said of the album "with the opening chords of On the Edge it is clear these guys are fresh and unique. Their anthemic sing-along against the corporatisation of the world won't leave your head. In fact, there are aspects of this album that make it the strongest I have heard in a quite some time. Merging traditional folk music topics and instrumentation, with modern rock sensibilities, Oyseterband creates a lively album that the listener can't help but dance to.

From Them, Through Us, to You

From Them, Through Us, to You is the debut album by Chicago-based rock band Madina Lake. The album was released in the United States on March 27, 2007 via Roadrunner Records; it was released a day earlier in the UK.

The album debuted at number 154 on the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart, number three on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart, and number sixty on the UK Albums Chart.

The first single off the album was "House of Cards", followed by "Here I Stand", "One Last Kiss" and "Pandora", all of which have music videos.

For unknown reasons the iTunes release includes the whole advanced track listing with "The Auspice" but "Now or Never", "Morning Sadness" and "True Love" are omitted with the advanced version lengths not the retail lengths. The iTunes version also indicates three segues in the subtitles of two songs ("Pandora" and "True Love"; "True Love" has two segues) but the tracks appear the same as in the advanced version.

I Stand

I Stand is the third studio album by American singer-songwriter Idina Menzel and was released on January 29, 2008.

The album was produced by Glen Ballard, who co-wrote most of the songs with Menzel.

Promotion

Singles and EPs

The first single, "Defying Gravity", was released in March 2007 however the track was only included on the UK and iTunes editions of the album. The song "Brave" was released as the second single in November 2007 and an EP of "Gorgeous" remixes was digitally released the following month.

Several months after the release of the album, "Idina Menzel- EP" was released, featuring several of the album's songs.

Tour

To promote the album, Menzel embarked on the I Stand tour on April 1, 2008 in New Brunswick, NJ. Her Concert at Rose Hall at Lincoln Center was filmed for a PBS special on the show Soundstage.

A music video for "I Stand" was released on her official YouTube channel on August 15, 2008. A music video for "Brave" was also released on the channel and on iTunes.
