Here, My Dear

Here, My Dear is the fifteenth studio album by music artist Marvin Gaye, released December 15, 1978, on Motown-subsidiary label Tamla Records. Recording sessions for the album took place between 1977 and 1978 at Gaye's personal studios, Marvin Gaye Studios in Los Angeles, California. The album was notable for its subject matter's being dedicated to the fallout of Gaye's marriage to his first wife, Anna Gordy Gaye.

Initially a commercial and critical failure upon its release, it was later hailed by music critics as one of Gaye's best produced albums in the years following Gaye's death. "It's taken me a while," Anna Gordy admitted in later years, "but I've come to appreciate every form of Marvin's music."

Background

Marvin Gaye was going through a personal crisis in the summer of 1976. In November of 1975, Gaye's estranged first wife, Anna Gordy Gaye, sued Gaye for divorce, claiming irreconcilable differences, and sought palimony to their adopted son, Marvin Gaye III. Gaye later argued his spending habit was causing him to fall behind on payments. In September 1976, a warrant was issued for Gaye's arrest after he failed to pay alimony. The singer hid from the public for several days.

"Here, My Dear" is a song written, composed and produced by American soul singer Marvin Gaye, issued on the album of the same name in 1978. The song was a sort of introduction to the deeply confessional and post-divorce concept that gave a chronological look back at the tempestuous marriage between Marvin and first wife Anna. The lyric, You don't have the right to use a son of mine to keep me in line, became a memorable lyric for fans of Gaye and very much was a lyric attacking Anna for demanding alimony and child support payments to support then-twelve-year-old Marvin, III. Marvin then sarcastically told his wife that he dedicated the album to her but warned that she might "not be happy" and telling Anna "this is what you wanted" making a reference to the judge in their divorce case to give up royalties from this album to Anna. The song's musical background would be used for the song "Everybody Needs Love" from this album.

My Dear is the debut album by the Anaheim, California rock band New Years Day, released in 2007 by TVT Records. The album was self-financed, self-produced, and recorded over an eight-month period at the home of producer Eugene Pererras. The band's debut music video for the lead single "I Was Right" won an MTVU "Freshman Face" poll and was added to the channel's playlist.

The album includes contributions from John Christianson and Dan Regan of Reel Big Fish, who provide horns on "My Sweet Unvalentine." "Brilliant Lies" includes lyrics written by Justin Pierre of Motion City Soundtrack.

Biography

Hassan Ibrahim known as Happy Famba was born on May 17, 1982, in Buyenzi, at the Prince Regent Charles Hospital, to Burundian parents Hassan Karunguka and Celine Kiyaboba. In 1997 when he was 15 years old, his mother was killed. In 1999, his father also died.

History

In 2000, the Orchestra Happy World Centre Jeune Kamenge hired Happy Famba as, "Framer of Dance.' It was an opportunity for him to learn to sing. In 2003, he released his first song Ndani Ya Club. This placed him in the ranks of popular singers in Burundi. In the same year, the PSI Burundi signed a contract for a tour in the provinces of the country during the campaign against AIDS.

In 2007, he released the song My Dear, which opened the doors of success for him. It was so successful to the point that it became one of the ambassadors of the Burundian music. The Shamila song that he released in 2008, with the participation of Mr Blue Tanzania, gave him the opportunity to be recognized in the Great Lakes region. His song was broadcast in many television channels. His career continued to move ahead in the same year with the songs Baby girl ft Jay Fire, Naogopa ft Black-G, and several shows in Congo and Rwanda.
