Juice (Juice Newton album)

Juice is the multi-Platinum 1981 breakthrough album by American country-rock singer Juice Newton. The album was Newton's third solo album and her first major international success.

Hits

The album features two #1 hits "Angel of the Morning" and "The Sweetest Thing (I've Ever Known)". It also contains "Queen of Hearts," the biggest-selling single of Juice Newton's career, which peaked at #2 on both Billboard's Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts ("Endless Love" by Diana Ross and Lionel Richie prevented the song from reaching #1). "Queen of Hearts" was a popular music video during the summer of MTV's debut. Newton would go on to have more hit songs and albums, but this remains the album for which she is best known.

Awards

Juice garnered Juice Newton two "Best Female Vocalist" Grammy Award nominations (in the Pop and Country categories, respectively) neither of which she won. But she did win her first Grammy for her follow-up album Quiet Lies.

Greatest Hits

In 1984, a fourth track from Juice titled "Ride 'Em Cowboy" was released in support of Newton's first "Greatest Hits" album. The single reached #32 on the U.S. Billboard Country charts.

Juice (soundtrack)

Juice is the soundtrack to the 1992 crime drama film, Juice. It was released on December 31, 1991 through MCA Records and consisted mainly of hip hop music. The soundtrack was a success, making it to #17 on the Billboard 200 and #3 on the Top R&B Albums and featured four charting singles "Uptown Anthem", "Juice (Know the Ledge)", "Don't Be Afraid" and "Is It Good to You". Juice was certified gold by the RIAA on March 4, 1992.

Juice 107.2

Juice 107.2 is an Independent Local Radio station based in Brighton, UK, playing MOR dance music, pop music and commercial classics. It also has a sister station—the internet radio station Totally Radio and regularly features the shows Unfold and Dugout, which feature DJs and artists from the Tru Thoughts independent record label. The station's broadcast area covers the city of Brighton and Hove and its suburbs, and towns along the English Channel coast as far as Worthing.

History

Juice was founded as Surf 107 in June 1997, when the Radio Authority licensed Brighton and Hove Radio Ltd to broadcast on a commercial basis to the Brighton and Hove area. Writer and broadcaster Simon Fanshawe was the director of the company, and various local companies held shares in it. The first transmission was on 27 March 1998, and a year later the station was recognised with a Sony Award.

Heat (2006 film)

Heat (Russian: Жара, stylized as "ЖАRА") is a 2006 Russian teen romantic comedy loosely based on the Walking the Streets of Moscow, directed by Rezo Gigineishvili and produced by Fyodor Bondarchuk. Heat along with Wolfhound became one of the most expensive Russian films in 2006. Besides, its budget was three times less as compared to the advertising campaign.

Plot

After three years a conscript sailor, Aleksey (Aleksey Chadov), comes back from the Black Sea Fleet to Moscow for a meeting with his waiting girlfriend, Masha (Maria Kurkova), and old classmates. Unfortunately, he finds out that his girlfriend is already married and has a child, then decides to spend the remaining time in a restaurant with his friends—an oligarch's son, Konstantin (Konstantin Kryukov), a beginner actor, Artur (Artur Smolyaninov), and a hip-hop artist, Timati. When their lunch is coming to the end, it appears that no one has money to pay the bill, except Konstantin's dollars which do not accept for payment. The rapper is decided to exchange currency at the nearest money changer, that will cause troubles.

Smallville (season 2)

Season two of Smallville, an American television series developed by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, began airing on September 24, 2002, on The WB television network. The series recounts the early adventures of Kryptonian Clark Kent as he adjusts to life in the fictional town of Smallville, Kansas, during the years before he becomes Superman. The second season comprises 23 episodes and concluded its initial airing on May 20, 2003. Regular cast members during season two include Tom Welling, Kristin Kreuk, Michael Rosenbaum, Sam Jones III, Allison Mack, Annette O'Toole and John Schneider. John Glover who was a recurring guest in season one was promoted to regular for season two. At the end of season one, Eric Johnson, who portrayed Whitney Fordman, had left the show.

Season two picks up directly where season one ended, with Clark (Welling) dealing with the aftermath of the tornadoes that hit Smallville. This season, Clark finally learns who he is and where he comes from, but must also acknowledge a potential destiny set into motion by his biological father that could change his life and the lives of those around him forever. Clark's relationship with Lana Lang (Kreuk) becomes increasingly closer, straining his friendship with Chloe Sullivan (Mack). Clark's best friend, Pete Ross (Jones III), learns Clark's secret this season.

Heat (soundtrack)

Heat is the soundtrack album to the 1995 film Heat. The score is compiled mostly with Elliot Goldenthal's orchestrations although there are a variety of other artists featured including U2/Brian Eno project Passengers, Lisa Gerrard, Moby and Terje Rypdal.

The score

The track "New Dawn Fades" is only a part of the whole song that fades into the next track and the track "God Moving Over the Face of the Waters" is slightly different from the version used in the film, the version on the score is from Moby's album Everything Is Wrong and the version in the film appears later on his 1997 album I Like to Score; Goldenthal composed and arranged the Kronos Quartet performed pieces. The Einstürzende Neubauten track "Armenia" was taken from their 1983 album Zeichnungen des Patienten O. T. and was used by Michael Mann again in his 1999 film The Insider.

Goldenthal composed a cue called "Hand in Hand" originally meant to be played over the end scene, but it was replaced by Moby's "God Moving Over the Face of the Waters", so he used it, replacing guitars with bagpipes, instead for the end titles to Michael Collins. A clip of the track as it was meant to be heard in Heat can be heard below. There is also an "extended version" of the score in bootleg form, with several tracks (including "Hand in Hand") which can be heard in the film but are not on the score released, available on the internet.
