Sun Ben, style name Boyang (伯陽), was the eldest son of Sun Qiang (Sun Jian's twin brother) and older brother of Sun Fu. He was three years older than Sun Ce. He served Sun Jian first in the campaign against Dong Zhuo. After Sun Jian's death, he took control of the army and went to serve Yuan Shu. He would soon rejoin Sun Ce. He died of illness after the Battle of Red Cliffs. He was succeeded by his son Sun Lin (孫鄰).

Sun Ben was born in Fuchun, Wu (present-day Fuyang, Zhejiang) to Sun Qiang, the twin brother of Sun Jian, as the older one of Sun Qiang's two sons. Sun Qiang died early, and so his sons were taken in by their uncle, Sun Jian. Sun Ben followed his uncle in battle after Sun Jian's return from Luoyang, and led a unit during Sun Jian's attack on Liu Biao. When Sun Jian died, Sun Ben, being older than Sun Ce, gathered many of the soldiers and generals and went to Yuan Shu, who had been Sun Jian’s liege.
Sun Ben served under Yuan Shu for a time, along with Sun Jian's brother-in-law, Wu Jing (the brother of Sun Jian's wife Lady Wu). He served as Inspector of Yu province, but the position was mostly honorary, for he was still young. He met Zhou Yu, and joined him to aid Wu Jing, who was under attack from Liu Yao. Sun Ce soon arrived as well, and both Zhou Yu and Sun Ben joined his army. Wu Jing was saved, and Sun Ben was reunited with his family under Yuan Shu.
As a reward for his duties, Sun Ben was made Grand Administrator of Yuzhang, while Sun Fu was sent to Luling. When Yuan Shu went out to battle Liu Bei, Sun Ben was assigned to defend Shouchun. When Yuan Shu declared himself emperor, Sun Ben, Wu Jing, Zhou Yu, and Lu Su all abandoned him and joined Sun Ce. Sun Ben's wife and children, however, were detained in the city and were unable to join him until later.
In 197, Sun Ce and Lü Bu allied with each other to defeat Yuan Shu. Sun Ben and Sun Fu led the attack against Liu Xun, easily scoring a victory.
In 200, Sun Ce died, and both Sun Ben and Sun Fu were uneasy about the young Sun Quan being his heir, both being his elder. The two were stationed in Yuzhang when Cao Cao began his advance southward. Sun Fu wrote a letter intending to surrender to Cao Cao, but he was stripped of all rank, and his advisors were executed. Sun Ben also was contemplating surrender, but it is said that Zhu Zhi dissuaded him, and he served at the Battle of Red Cliffs. A few months after, however, Sun Ben died of illness. His son, Sun Lin, would succeed him.
At the time of his death, it is said that an edict was in Sun Ben's possession—an edict delivered from the capital offering him a high rank under Cao Cao. It is possible that Sun Ben died of distress.

Ben Turner (actor)
Ben Turner (born 3 February 1980) is a British Iranian actor, most notable for his roles as nurse Jay Faldren from Series 23 Episode 8 until Series 26 Episode 16 on BBC's Casualty and Louis XV in Doctor Who.
Life and career
Turner was born in London. He was educated at Dulwich College, well known for its pedigree of actors including the founder Edward Alleyn. He then trained as an actor at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
Ben has appeared in many productions in television, film, theatre and radio, including Michael Grandage's production of Richard II.
He has also appeared in several charity shows such as Children in Need, 2009 in the Casualty special as Staff Nurse Jay Faldren and also Let's Dance for Sport Relief 2010.
Ben appeared in the first of the live shows along with Casualty's Charles Dale (Big Mac) and Tony Marshall (Noel Garcia) as well as Holby City's Rosie Marcel (Jac Naylor) and Luke Roberts (Joseph Byrne). He left Casualty in December 2011, along with co-star Georgia Taylor, who played his main love interest in the show.
Ben Turner (weightlifter)
Ben Turner (born 23 January 1984 in Brisbane) is an Australian weightlifter best known for his performances at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, where he won the Gold Medal in the 69 kg category, and the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Dehli, India, where he won Silver in the 77 kg category. Turner is also a coach and has worked with former top Australian female lifter Erika Yamasaki.
Early life
Turner grew up in Carina, an eastern suburb in Brisbane, the state capital of Queensland. He attended St. Oliver Plunkett's Catholic Primary School from 1990-1993. During these years he developed an interest in Australian Rules Football, Cricket and Rugby League. From 1994-2001 he attended Iona College in Wynnum. During his time there he was involved in cricket, rugby league in Junior School (1994–1996), and rugby union (1997–2001) in high school, playing all at representative level.
Weightlifting
Turner developed an interest in Olympic Weightlifting after seeing the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta on television. It wasn't until 1999 that Turner did anything about his interest due to high school commitments. After seeing an article in a local paper, he enquired to the local club about trying the sport. In 2000, Queensland Weightlifting came to his high school to run the national talent identification clean and jerk competition. Turner, weighing 60 kg, lifted 85 kg and placed 3rd in the event. Within a matter of weeks Turner had started training at the Cougars Weightlifting Club at Chandler under coach Miles Wydall, the site of the 1982 Commonwealth Games. In 2001, at the completion of Year 12, he decided to commit to weightlifting full-time. At that point Turner withdrew from Queensland Cricket Under 17 Squad which he was a member of, sacrificing any further representative involvement in the sport.
