Haven (band)

Haven were an English indie rock band, formed in Cornwall in 1996. The band consisted of singer Gary Briggs, guitarist Nathan Wason, bassist Iwan Gronow and drummer Jack Mitchell. Originally called Blew, their new name was taken from a local holiday resort.

Career

The band formed after Gary Briggs moved to Cornwall and met Nathan Wason in a record shop in Penzance. After recruiting drummer Tom Lewis and London born Iwan Gronow, the band moved to Manchester in 1999 after being discovered by the former Smiths' manager Joe Moss set them up with a regular slot at The Night and Day Café. In 2001, drummer Tom Lewis left the band and was replaced by local Manchester drummer Jack Mitchell. Through Moss's Smiths connections they also played support slots for Johnny Marr's band The Healers, and others including Badly Drawn Boy. The band's first release was the Til The End EP in May 2001, with further singles following, including the top-75 UK hit "Let It Live" and their top-30 breakthrough "Say Something". Their debut album, Between The Senses, was released in February 2002, and reached No. 26 in the UK Albums Chart. A second album was released in 2004, and the band constantly remained on tour. Their record label merged with another and the band were asked to record a third album. However with the deadline set soon after the tour, Haven did not manage to record enough material to complete what the label wanted. They were subsequently released from their recording contract, and the band split up.

+/-, or Plus/Minus, is an American indietronic band formed in 2001. The band makes use of both electronic and traditional instruments, and has sought to use electronics to recreate traditional indie rock song forms and instrumental structures. The group has released two albums on each of the American indie labels Teenbeat Records and Absolutely Kosher, and their track "All I do" was prominently featured in the soundtrack for the major film Wicker Park. The group has developed a devoted following in Japan and Taiwan, and has toured there frequently. Although many artists append bonus tracks onto the end of Japanese album releases to discourage purchasers from buying cheaper US import versions, the overseas versions of +/- albums are usually quite different from the US versions - tracklists can be rearranged, artwork with noticeable changes is used, and tracks from the US version can be replaced as well as augmented by bonus tracks.

!!! is a dance-punk band that formed in Sacramento, California, in 1996 by lead singer Nic Offer. Its name is most commonly pronounced "Chk Chk Chk" ([/tʃk.tʃk.tʃk/]). Members of !!! came from other local bands such as The Yah Mos, Black Liquorice and Popesmashers. They are currently based in New York City, Sacramento, and Portland, Oregon. The band's sixth full-length album, As If, was released in October 2015.

Background and history

!!! is an American band formed in the summer of 1995 by the merger of part of the group Black Liquorice and Popesmashers. After a successful joint tour, these two teams decided to mix the disco-funk with more aggressive sounds and integrate the hardcore singer Nic Offer from the The Yah Mos. The band's name was inspired by the subtitles of the movie The Gods Must Be Crazy, in which the clicking sounds of the Bushmens' Khoisan language were represented as "!". However, as the bandmembers themselves say, !!! is pronounced by repeating thrice any monosyllabic sound. "Chk Chk Chk" is the most common pronunciation, which the URL of their official website and the title of their Myspace page suggest is the preferred pronunciation.

The first season of the American television series Haven premiered on July 9, 2010, and concluded on October 8, 2010, on Syfy. The show aired on Fridays at 10:00 pm ET. The season consisted of 13 episodes. The show stars Emily Rose, Lucas Bryant, Eric Balfour and Nicholas Campbell.

Storylines

Audrey

In the beginning of season one, Audrey was dispatched to Haven, Maine to investigate the death of an escaped federal prisoner local to the town. On her first day in Haven, she nearly ran her Ford Taurus off a cliff, but was rescued by Detective Nathan Wuornos, who assisted in her investigation. She met Havenites Conrad Brauer and Duke Crocker, as well as journalists Vince and Dave Teagues, before discovering that Lester had been thrown to his death by Marion Caldwell with the use of her own paranormal abilities.

The Teagues show Audrey an old newspaper clipping with a photo of someone strongly resembling Audrey herself. After solving the Lester case, Parker chose to use several weeks of her accrued vacation time in order to stay in Maine. She questioned Chief Wuornos (Nathan's Father) about the woman in the picture because Wuornos had investigated the 1983 Colorado Kid case to which the photograph was related, and the chief agreed to look into the matter. The evidence box from the case is located still sealed, but empty.

List of Transformers: Cybertron episodes

The following is a list of episodes in the Transformers series, Transformers: Cybertron. It chronicles the adventures of the Autobots, as they battle the Decepticons and attempt to claim the four Cyber Planet Keys.

The series uses four pieces of theme music. For the first twenty-seven episodes of the series "Call You - Kimi to Boku no Mirai [The Future of You and I]" by Shinji Kakijima is used for the opening theme and "Itsumo" by Tomoka Issei is used for the ending theme. The remaining episodes use "Ignition!" by CHINO for the opening theme and "Growing Up" by Shinji Kakijima for the Ending theme. In the English dub of the series, all of the original ending themes are removed, with the song "Transformers: Cybertron Theme" by Paul Oakenfold used for both the opening and ending in all episodes.
