Harpster, Ohio

Harpster is a village in Wyandot County, Ohio, United States. The population was 204 at the 2010 census.

Geography

Harpster is located at 40°44′16″N 83°15′1″W / 40.73778°N 83.25028°W / 40.73778; -83.25028 (40.737661, -83.250151).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.97 square miles (5.10 km²), all land.

Demographics

2010 census

As of the census of 2010, there were 204 people, 83 households, and 61 families residing in the village. The population density was 103.6 inhabitants per square mile (40.0/km²). There were 90 housing units at an average density of 45.7 per square mile (17.6/km²). The racial makeup of the village was 97.5% White, 1.0% African American, 0.5% from other races, and 1.0% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.5% of the population.

There were 83 households of which 27.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.0% were married couples living together, 9.6% had a female householder with no husband present, 4.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 26.5% were non-families. 15.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 2.79.
