Hannah McKay

Hannah McKay is a fictional character portrayed by Yvonne Strahovski, in the seventh and eighth seasons of the Showtime television series Dexter.

Hannah is first introduced in season 7, episode 3, "Buck the System", as the former accomplice of a spree killer, and Hannah becomes romantically involved with Dexter Morgan.

Character history

Season 7

Hannah McKay was a 15-year-old from Clopton, Alabama when her boyfriend Wayne Randall commenced a three-state killing spree. She spent six years in juvenile detention after pleading guilty to being Randall's accomplice. She claimed not to have actually committed any of the murders and received immunity from prosecution after agreeing to testify against Randall.

She married an older man but poisoned him when he pressured her to have an abortion; she later claimed that she wanted to have the child. She inherited her gardening business from her mentor, whom she was later suspected of poisoning with aconitum.

When Randall decides to reveal where he buried the last of his victims, Miami Metro Homicide wants a DNA sample from Hannah. Dexter is assigned to get the sample, is immediately taken with her, and becomes uncharacteristically distracted in his work.

Buy More

Buy More is a fictional big-box electronics retail chain in NBC's action-comedy series Chuck. The Buy More is a parody of similar chains, particularly Best Buy.

The notable employees of the Buy More fit into three categories: management, Nerd Herd (technical support), and sales associates (who are called "Green Shirts" on account of their uniforms). Current and recent notable employees are listed by their last held position.

Series

The series' eponymous character Chuck Bartowski, and most of the principal characters, are employed at the Burbank branch of the Buy More for most of the entire series. The store is located at 9000 Burbank Boulevard. Every episode touches on the store at some point, whether for a substantial comedic side plot or as the scene of some of the series' spy action, particularly in the first two seasons. The Burbank Buy More is involved in a fierce rivalry with the nearby Beverly Hills location, often involving vicious pranks between the stores, as highlighted in "Chuck Versus the Predator". Neighboring "big box" stores in the shopping center are Large Mart and Underpants Etc. The employees of Buy More and Large Mart have a fragile truce concerning pranks and sabotage of each other's store. Restaurants across the parking lot include Wienerlicious, a fast-food retailer specializing in hot dogs and sausages, in season 1; Orange Orange, a frozen yogurt store, in seasons 2 and 3; and a Bennigan's.Sarah Walker maintains a cover as an employee of the Wienerlicious and, subsequently, the Orange Orange. The Orange Orange – like the Buy More – is a façade for, and secret entrance to, the underground Castle base.

Hannah (oratorio)

Hannah is an oratorio in three acts by Christopher Smart with a score composed by John Worgan. It was first performed in Haymarket theater 3 April 1764. It was supposed to have a second performance, but that performance was postponed and eventually cancelled over a lack of singers. A libretto was published for its run and a libretto with full score was published later that year.

Hannah tells the story of Hannah and of her devotion to God which resulted in her being blessed with fertility by God. It was the first of two oratorio librettos written by Smart, the second being Abimelech.

Background

In 1763, Christopher Smart was released from Mr. Potter's madhouse. While working on a translation of the Psalms and of Horace's writings, Smart needed to earn money to support himself. He was encouraged to write a libretto in order to find employment by many of his friends who were involved with the theater and musical circles of London. The field of Oratorio appealed to Smart because of its financial benefits and its being grounded in the "sacred".
