Mike Keneally

Michael Joseph Keneally (born December 20, 1961) is an American guitarist, keyboardist, vocalist and composer. "With his wide-ranging talents and ability to be creative in almost any musical situation, Keneally is the leading progressive rock genius of the post-Zappa era."

Early years and musical influences

Keneally started playing music at the age of 7 when he had received an electric organ for his birthday. He had also received a guitar on his eleventh birthday, and also plays bass and drums. His early childhood musical influences included The Beatles, and theme music from cartoon and television shows such as, "The Wallace and Ladmo Show" and "2001: A Space Odyssey".

Career

Born on Long Island, New York, he moved to San Diego, California, at an early age and has been a fixture on the local music scene there since 1985 when he formed the local cult band, Drop Control. Although a well established musician in his own right, Keneally is probably most well known as former Frank Zappa "stunt guitarist" and a Zappa 1988 tour band member on both guitar and keyboards. His ascendency to that position is legendary in certain musician circles, based on Keneally's command of Zappa's vast and difficult-to-play repertoire.

Puppy (Fluke album)

Puppy is the fifth and most recent album by British electronica group Fluke, first released in August 2003. The album contains a variety of genres, spanning from house to ambient and even including a Blues track, "Blue Sky".

The release of the album was significantly delayed by a change to the band's record label, switching from Virgin Records offshoot Circa to One Little Indian.

"Snapshot" was featured in Need for Speed: Underground while "Switch/Twitch" is featured in Need for Speed: Underground 2.

"Another Kind of Blues" is a 4:37 edit of previously released promotional single, Slap It (original length 10:19). Another version, renamed "Zion", was used for the underground rave scene in the 2003 film The Matrix Reloaded. Puppy's "Another Kind of Blues" is an entirely different song from the track of the same name included on the Xmas Demos.

The track "YKK" was used in the 2010 film The Experiment.

Four of the tracks on the album had previously been released in demo form on a Virgin Records promotional release from 2000 called Xmas Demos. The remaining tracks, "Liquid" and the original "Another Kind of Blues", did not make the final cut.

Miracle Woman And Man

by: Mike Keneally

She does strange things
And chanted strange things
Worlds of crazy actionary hidden away
You clear through spine glasses
But flash a little jello,
Until the moment passes
The sub lunar golden glasses
In cahoots with the DJ
He spins the sounds that play
In your dreams came right away
(No more should go)
Miracle woman and man
Miracle woman and man
Miracle man and woman
He spin the sounds that could play
In your dreams came right away
(No more should go)
Miracle woman and man
Miracle woman and man
Miracle man and woman
As led on you
So does leather on you
Making of your great effigy
In the name
But flash a little jello,
Until the moment passes
The good human flowing assets
Slam salutes at the DJ
He spins the sounds that play
In your dreams came right away
Miracle woman and man
